My feet shuffle across the gravel as we continue to walk along the street. We have not seen any Spreaders recently because we are now out of the city, but there have been so many amounts that I have killed. I probably couldn't count if I tried. Knowing this just makes me feel sick to my stomach; they used to be human beings.
"So, where exactly are we going to do this?" I mutter to Caroline who is walking up in front. She turns her head slightly towards me, "There is this cabin in the woods I found a long time ago when I was with Dylan. There is a ton of medical equipment in there. It will be a long walk, just warning you."
"Ugh. Why can't you just stab me with the needle thing and hope it works? Would that not be easier?" I question her.
"Bryanna, are you serious?"
I nod my head.
"If we do that, you risk major overdose, possible Myocardial rupture, Neurological damage, cardiac arrest, and so much more."
"Speak english Miss Doctor."
"It can or will kill you without the proper hospitalization."
Oh, crap. I never realized how dangerous this could be. Well I guess I did, it's just I don't want to admit that what I'm going through is going to be the cause of my death. For at least 10 minutes there is absolute silence.
Suddenly, I can hear murmured sounds approaching from behind. I turn my head to see a swarm of Spreaders as far as the eye can see.
"Mother Trucker!" I yell.
"RUN CAROLINE!" I scream at her.
She looks back in terror and runs.
"Oh my gosh! Where do we go?!" She cries out.
I run beside her and point at some dead Spreaders. "Over there, trust me on this one."
We reach the carcasses and I put my bag down beside the tree. "Okay listen, the Spreaders are still a few miles back so we still have time. What I need you to do is put on this dead body's clothes. Then, rub as much of the blood on you as possible, in your hair, on your face, everywhere. Once we are both done, we will join the herd of Spreaders, make sure to hide all your supplies and weapons. Walk at the same pace so they don't get suspicious. When they die down, we sneak out and run over towards the cabins. You will have to lead the way." I announce.
"Okay, are you sure this is going to work?" She asks.
I laugh slightly, "Not one bit. I saw it off the Walking Dead, so it will have to work." I say.
"Also, Bry, we have one problem."
I look up. "Which is?"
"You know how the swarm is going in that direction?" She points the the right of us.
"Yeah?"
Come on Caroline spit it out. I'm getting worried.
"That is the exact direction we have to go..." She finally finishes.
"Shoot. Of course."

We finish up applying the blood to our face and hair.
Eventually the herd catches up and we enter the crowd.
The smell of dead bodies, blood, bad breath, rotten eggs, and so much more that can't be described, fills my nostrils.
I hope this works.
