millie dropped her bookbag on the dirty tiled floor, and slammed herself into the seat. she huffed when she saw the prettiest girl in school walk into the room. iris apatow, ladies and gentlemen. so perfect that you want to faint just looking at her. but, she wasn't alone. finn the asshole was right beside her, arm slung around her shoulders. he smiled at iris, clearly over-exaggerated-ly though.

of course, the most attractive guy (not to millie) was going to date the most attractive girl. it's basically a school caste system. nerds date nerds. geeks date geeks. jocks date cheerleaders. to millie, she didn't fit in anywhere.

millie remembered natalia and began to briskly walk to the front of the classroom to talk to her. natalia looked up at millie and gave a warm smile, which millie had only gotten from sadie at the time. her parents never smiled anymore.

"hey, nat-attack. how are ya feeling today?" millie asked the slightly older woman.

"i'm fine, but how are you? some kids were talking about you when i was walking into the building earlier. did something happen that i don't know about?" natalia said, grabbing millie's hand. millie looked away, attempting to be rid of her tears that were forming. natalia obviously knew somewhat about what happened.

"oh, nothing." natalia frowned at millie, disappointed that she didn't tell her. "did you tell joe-bo yet?"

"no, i keep forgetting." natalia lied. she thought about it all day everyday. "i shouldn't tell him. he'll just leave me behind like most women are these days."

"natalia, joe couldn't leave you if he tried. you should tell him. you can't hide your stomach forever." millie truthfully said. by then all of the students had gotten into the classroom, and were chatting amongst themselves.

millie walked back to her seat, eyeing finn and iris who smiled and at eachother while laughing. finn took his gaze off of iris and glanced at millie. he frowned when he saw her glare directed towards him. he brushed it off and looked at iris again.

millie sat in the plastic chair and opened her textbook to page 469.

millie dashed out of school, not even bothering with her locker. her phone was in her grasp and she contemplated calling sadie to meet her.

the phone rang, but as millie was about to answer it, she was shoved to the ground from behind. all she could feel was a stinging pain in her elbows and on her chin. her phone flew across the ground. millie's elbows soon bled, and when she came to realize what was happening, she lifted her head up and turned around to see: you guessed it, finn the asshole. he didn't even appear shaken up, even though (millie assumed) he was probably living alone or spending all of his time at iris's castle. millie slowly stood up, holding her chin. she didn't cry, but instead punched his left jaw. all of her anger and sadness, infused into that one hit.

finn's eyes widened in shock. millie mentally whispered, "ow! goddamn he has a tough jaw."
sadie was watching the scene as she walked towards her best friend.

"why are you here finn?" sadie slapped him, she too was mad at finn. he hurt her best friend.

"i came here to tell you to stop staring at me in class. it makes iris uncomfortable. leave me alone." finn said, still weirded out from the punch.

"wait. bitch back the fuck up. you want me, to leave you alone? how about you, take some of your own fuckin advice. what do you want? i tell you time after time to leave me alone. and guess what- you still attack me. how do i get you to leave me alone for once?" millie yelled at finn.

finn stuttered out a few words that couldn't be understood. he was visibly shocked.

"go to hell, finn the asshole. iris will be there with you." sadie said, and pulled millie away. sadie had millie by the back of her overalls, which meant that millie was walking backwards. millie held up both of her middle fingers at finn. he did the same back.
