"yo, romeo, who's that chick with wolhard?" jacob asked his british friend as they sat on a wooden bench outside of a small strip mall. they had skipped school just like finn and millie. but, they didn't even bother showing up at school.
romeo beckham followed jacob's eyes. he too watched them now, staring as they stood face to face with each other.
"oh, that's millie brown. wait, how did you not know that? finn literally always bullies her." romeo said, squinting due to the blazing sun.
"i dunno, but damn, she's hot. would you check out that ass-"
"dude, no." romeo cut him off.
"what why? if he clearly doesn't like her, then isn't she free? and, can't i call a girl sexy?" jacob questioned, lighting a cigarette.
"no, i think they're dating, at least that's what everyone keeps telling me. plus, even so, don't call her sexy. that's gross, especially when you're eyeing her like a piece of meat." the blonde haired boy argued.
"okay, jesus, sorry. but when they do break up, i will get her."
"seriously stop. don't be a douche. i mean, yeah she is pretty, but calm down, you wouldn't even have a chance with her." romeo explained.
jacob looked offended.
"what the hell dude? have you seen me?" jacob said.
"yeah i have seen you, and you look like a grade-a fuckboy." romeo said, glaring at his friend.
"what the hell dude? why are you acting like this?" jacob asked romeo, who looked like he was about to explode.
romeo rolled his eyes. "i'm just tired of seeing you staring at girls like that, all you do is fuck them and then leave them. it's bloody disgusting."
finn and millie had walked away by then, but romeo and jacob hadn't noticed.
"i could have a normal relationship with a girl if i wanted to. it's just my choice to not have one." jacob argued back.
"as if a girl would even want to have a 'normal relationship' with you. a day into it, she'd leave once she saw what a weirdo you are." romeo said.
"they wouldn't even want to leave me. i'm gonna die an icon. they would not dare to leave." jacob tested, crossing his arms like a five-year old child would when you take away their toy.
"okay, i'm so done with you right now! can you seriously look me right in the eyes and tell me that you aren't and f-boy?" romeo asked while standing up. he was ready to walk away.
silence
romeo turned on his heels and walked away, not even knowing where he was to travel to.

i started to enjoy finn's company more and more as we walked around, in attempt to get to the old vinyl record store. occasionally, he told jokes. they were awful, but i never hesitated to laugh at them.
"hey mills?" he called out to me as he took my hand in his again. it was nice to feel a warm source in this slightly chilly weather.
"yeah finnie?" i queried, interested in what he had to say. he clearly tensed up immediately after i spoke his name. i giggled to myself.
