Prologue •••
Where to start, where to start. Two teenagers in love, ending up in one becoming a cold, miserable fool. It fuelled him up like gas. He felt sick every time he saw her yellow bike chained to the lamppost they had kissed at. under the cloudy sky, nothing but the lamppost giving off light, apart from the twinkle in their eyes.
All the memories he had were stuck on replay, he could feel her heart beating, her breath quickening. He could see her running in the Elysian Fields in Greendale. He could see him and her biking around their small, traumatised town with smiles on their faces. It was so unlike him. He still passed the small record shop where they had met. Where they had argued and babbled about their taste in music.
The short strands of grass, the gorgeous yellow meadow in which she basked in, giggling in her sticky attire. That's where she had kissed him, whispering 'I love you' over and over again. Hands intertwined, a colourful romance.
The way they had ended up making out in the boy's bathroom, her hands gripping his hair as they hungrily searched for each other's lips. It was a rush, his hands had trailed up her white graphic shirt which ironically said 'don't touch me twerp'. He had even asked her:
"Baby, this doesn't apply to me now does it? A-am I allowed to touch you?"
"Only if I get to wear your jacket later" she smiled as he nodded and quickly got back to pulling her shirt up.
It still plagued him, the way she had been so carefree and fine, the way she hadn't cared if she couldn't ride a motorbike, or how to fix a car. He had taught her. And nothing had ever felt better.
When they first made love, the way she had dipped down so there was no space. The way they had laughed throughout it, it was just so surreal to be with such a girl.
And he missed her dearly.
Which was why he sat alone in his small booth at the back of the bar. Why he suddenly put on a painless, cold facade that masked the pain. Why he had convinced Toni Topaz, the only girl left at Southside, to be his friend, as he'd lost so many. Yet, he still managed to build a gang of ruthless, terrifying Southside Serpents. His name was now an ironic piece of dry humour: Sweet Pea.

edit: so I'm re-editing and I've decided to change some of the plot.
Jughead won't be at Southside, Sweet Pea and Kim won't really express their feelings until we get everything out of the way.
Pembley is going to be that good boy gone bad sort of thing. His whole attitude will change but his words won't.
