"Mama said 'don't give up, it's a little complicated. All tied up, no more love, and I'd hate to see you waiting' "

13 ABY

The man stared at the house in front of him. Hopefully, the news he got was correct or he would have come all that way for absolutely nothing. He sighed and ran a robotic hand through his greying hair.

What he was told is that the daughter of a good friend of his was in that house.

He'd been looking for her for two years wanting to keep his promise to Guissepe and Lillian Salvatore. With determination he took a step towards the expensive-looking house, hoping that his hunt of two years will finally come to and end.

With another sigh, a six year-old Victoria dipped the ragged cloth back in the bucket of soap and water. She then took it and went back to wiping the floor of her current boss' home.

This was the second or third boss she'd worked for in the past year and all of them were the same except for this one. The aging woman seemed slightly better than the others.

Too bad Victoria didn't bother to remember her name. She was pretty sure it was Abigail though.

A knock came from the front door and Victoria thankfully stopped scrubbing and made her way towards the door. But her boss had already made it to the door and opened it for the man waiting on the other side.

He entered and looked around, his gaze didn't pause at Victoria so she assumed that he didn't see her.

"I'm looking for Victoria Salvatore. Someone told me that she might be here." Said the greying man.

The boss, who we're now going to call Abigail, looked confused.

"I'm sorry, but I don't know about Victor-"

"I'm Victoria Salvatore. Who are you?" She realized a second too late that maybe he was with the First Order, even though that should be impossible.

Two years ago on the night her parents died and she managed to lose her siblings in the middle of a huge crowd, she ran into a Stormtrooper that recognized her. Victoria managed to make him believe that he had killed her, and gave him the charm bracelet she was wearing for him to show his comrades proof that he had indeed killed her.

To that very day, Victoria had no idea how she managed to pull it off.

Abigail looked started and said, "But you told me your name was Elizabeth and that you couldn't remember your last name. You never told me you were a Salvatore. And aren't all the Salvatores dead?"

The thing about the Salvatores was they were almost as known as the Skywalkers. They had been around for centuries, all of them becoming either Jedi or Grey Warriors. And the "death" of the Salvatore family two years ago was greatly talked about.

Victoria said, "Elizabeth is my middle name." Then she turned to the middle-aged man. "So who are you?"

Luke looked hesitant. "Excuse me, madame can I please talk to young Victoria alone." It wasn't a question, it was more like he was telling her to leave.

She seemed to have realized that. "Oh yes of course."

Victoria didn't know why she felt safe around this total stranger, but it didn't seem like he would harm her. He seemed calm and serene, like he had a lot of power, and knew it, and still wouldn't hurt a fly.

When Abigail left, the man sat down on a chair and motioned for Victoria to do the same.

"I'm Luke Skywalker, Victoria. Do you know who I am? Have you heard of me at all?"

She nodded her head slowly, she remembered her parents mentioning his name a few times. They had talked about him like he was very important so it was safe to assume that he was.

"Do you know what I am?" He asked, his eyes filled with kindness and patience.

A moment of silence pasted as Victoria pondered.

"A force user." The six year-old answered in a small voice, as she wasn't entirely sure that "force user" was the right answer.

"That I am, Victoria. But more specifically, I'm a Jedi. Jedi are force users who gain energy from the Light Side of the force."

"Is there a Dark Side?" Victoria asked, it seemed perfectly logical in her tiny head, that if there's a light side, then there must be a dark one too, even though she barely understood either.

Luke sighed softly. "Yes, yes there is. Unfortunately. But that's not what I'm here to talk about."

Victoria nodded her head slowly. The Light Side is good, the Dark Side is bad. She thought.

Luke then said, "I'm not sure if you know this, but you, little Victoria, have the ability to use the force and potential to become a great Jedi one day."

Victoria has always been very curious in nature and so she asked, "Is the Light Side and Dark Side all there is?"

He paused, hesitant. "Pretty much."

Victoria said, "Mommy told me I had strong powers, but I'm scared of them. I'd always break stuff if I get sad or upset."

"I can train you." Luke said, but then he saw the hesitation on her innocent face.

Luke looked around the room. "Do you want me to train you? In the ways of the Force? I can teach you how to control your powers, how to navigate through certain aspects of the Force. That is... if you'd like." The little six year-old in front of him was already pressured enough, he didn't want it to feel like he was forcing her.

"I think maybe I'd like that."

"Are you sure?"

"...yes."

"Good."
