"Allie, wake up! You're going to be late for school!" Aunt Sarah yelled to me from the kitchen.
"I'll be down in a minute!" I yelled back to her, now I was in a rush realizing what time it was. As I bent down to pick up my backpack I saw a picture in the corner of my eye. It was one of the many pictures of me and my boyfriend Eric. We've been dating for about five years. We met a few years after my dad died in a car accident. I was the new kid at his school. I had to transfer schools because my mom couldn't take care of me after dad died, and so she gave me to my Aunt Sarah. What happened that really tore me apart was when my mom died, I was only thirteen, and without parents. The only thing that kept me from joining them was Eric and my best friend Katlynn. We all met at about the same time so we sort of stuck together after that.
"Allie hurry up the bus is here!" Aunt Sarah yelled, bringing me back into the present.
I looked up from the picture and out the window and saw the bus was there. I went to the mirror to make sure everything looked alright; I was wearing bell-bottom blue jeans and a black tight fitting tee shirt with a pair of blue sneakers. I ran down the stairs taking two at a time, I bumped into Aunt Sarah at the bottom I yelled "sorry! I'm in a hurry!" As I ran through the kitchen I grabbed a piece of bacon and said, "Thanks for breakfast, bye!" as I ran out the door.
I jumped on the bus and said "Sorry."
The bus driver glared at me from under his hat and growled, "Sit down."
I rolled my eyes and took a seat in the back of the bus next to Katlynn and asked, "What's the problem with him today?"
She shrugged her shoulders and said, "Who knows."
"Should we ask him?" I asked looking up at the front of the bus.
"Why, sure, we should go ask him, and while we're at it lets go jump off a bridge!" She said in a sarcastic tone.
I looked up, puzzled, wondering why she was being so rude. And when I noticed that her eyes were red and puffy, with a tear in the corner of her eye, I started to worry about her. "Aw! What happened Katlynn?" I asked with sympathy in my voice.
She huffed as if to keep from crying and said "My dad canceled our camping trip again. This is the third time he's done it this month!" It doesn't normally bug her this much when someone cancels something. I racked my brain looking for a way to make her feel better. Then the idea came to me.
"Katlynn," I said in a very cheery calm tone of voice" how about you and me go camping tonight?"
She looked up at me slowly and saw that I wasn't kidding and squealed in excitement, and said very enthusiastically, "Yes!"
When we got to school I stopped and looked around for Eric, but I couldn't find him. I was about to turn around to ask Katlynn if she's seen him and suddenly warm hands covered my eyes. I froze and then thawed out when I realized who it was. I leaned back and took a deep breath, he smelled so sweet and warm that I couldn't help but sigh. I heard him chuckle and felt him move his hands down to my waist. I opened my eyes and saw the principal glare at us. Eric must have seen too because he let go of me and took a step back, still keeping my hand in his.
When the principal had turned the other way, Eric leaned down and gave me a quick kiss and I blushed and giggled when I saw people stare at us. I looked up into his brown eyes, as they looked back down at me they were twinkling and were full of love and joy. I couldn't help but to let my eyes wander across his handsome face, his pink lips were turned up into a sweet smile while his hair, I noticed, was shorter and more of a military cut. I liked this haircu,t but I liked the other one much more.
"You got a new haircut?" I asked with a disgusted look on my face, but I quickly hid it behind a curious look on my face. It was no use. When he noticed my distaste for the style, his smile slipped and his eyes dimmed down from full-blown happy back to his normal happy.
"Yeah, I didn't know which one to get, but I decided this one would be more convenient," he said with an almost bored tone.
I turned around to look for Katlynn; she was standing next to the gym doors talking to Kayla. I didn't know that much about her except that her parents died in a fire when she was young and that she lives in an apartment by herself that her grandpa pays for. She has brown hair with blonde highlights and ice-blue eyes and she is one of the Goth kids. She only wears black and purple and puts on tons of eyeliner--I don't have anything against her--it's just that she is very rude and keeps bringing up things everyone would rather forget.
"Hey Katlynn, can I talk to you?" I called over to her and asked we had to make plans for our camping trip tonight it was the last day before spring break so the timing worked out.
She looked over to me and nodded, she said goodbye to Kayla, walked over and asked in a happy voice, "What did you need?"
"We need to make plans for the trip tonight, remember?" I said with disdain.
"What trip?" Eric asked with pure curiosity in his voice.
I was about to answer when Katlynn spoke "We're going camping tonight at around 4 pm."
"Yeah, we still need to work out some stuff." I agreed with her and looked up at Eric. He had a concerned look on his face. "We're only going to be gone one night and plus I'll have my cell phone if anything goes wrong." I said before he could veto the idea of us going camping.
"Oh, Allie I have everything we need packed all ready so all you need to do is bring clothes." She said, bouncing up and down.
I turned to her and nodded I was about to say something else but the bell rang, and I said a quick goodbye to Eric as Katlynn and I left for our first period.
We entered the room right before the bell stopped ringing Mr.Stanz glared at us as we took our seats in the back if the class. We didn't pay attention to class we were too busy passing notes; the only thing that I caught was that we had to read a book over spring break. I figured I'd ask Eric which book it is later. This is how the rest of the day continued until the final bell rung.

Katlynn and I ran to our lockers to get our stuff, giggling with excitement that we finally got to leave and go camping. Eric came up to me and put his arm around my waist.
"So... Do you need a ride to the camp site tonight?" Eric asked nonchalantly.
I nodded my head and asked "Can you give me a ride home too? It would be a lot quicker then riding the bus."
"Yeah sure! Hey Katlynn, do you need a ride too?" he asked but as she was about to speak, her mom drove by and honked the horn at her.
"Does that answer your question?" she said sarcastically as she was running towards her mom's car.
"Okay, remember to get there around four! And don't forget the water!" I called after her as she nodded and waved. I had the feeling she would forget most of what I said.
