Travis' P.O.V

I woke up and stared at the girl sleeping infront of me.

I started to ask myself who she was, or why her clothes were burnt. Why she was lost. What happened? I'm sure she knows, but I don't think I should ask her because she was crying.

She seemed familiar to me, but I couldn't place my finger on it. How could I forget if I ever met someone as beautiful as her?

I stood up and started going through my bag for breakfast when she woke up.

She woke up and sighed, as if she was hoping that this was all a dream.

I handed her some leftover bread from last night. She gladly took it and ate.

"Why are you helping me?" She asked.

"Why wouldn't I help such a beautiful girl like you?" I asked her back.

She sighed. "No seriously. Why did you save me? I'm a burden right now."

"I couldn't just leave a girl as pretty as you laying by the lake, could I? Something could happen." I said.

She mumbled something but I couldn't hear her. "What did you say?" I asked her."

"Thanks... for saving me." She said a bit louder this time but not looking at me in the eyes.

I chuckled. "It's no problem."

After we finished eating, I started to pack my stuff. "So where do you want to go?" I asked her.

"I... don't know. I have no where to go." She said and I frowned. I wonder what happened to her home.

I shouldn't ask. Maybe later on.

"Ok I'll lead the way I guess." I said as I stood up my now packed bag on my shoulder.

"Excuse me?" She asked me sounding surprised.

"We're travelling together right? Plus, I can't let you go on you're own." I said as I walked up to her.

"I can take care of myself, thank you very much." She said and I sighed.

"Fine. You lead the way. If you can take care of yourself, at least lead the way." I said as I handed her a map.

"I-I I don't-" she started but I cut her off.

"Let's get going!"

She started mumbling things to herself as she started to walk... somewhere.

Katelyn's P.O.V

Hell I've never been out of my kingdom, non less lead someone to somewhere, using a map.

It's been hours since we started walking and let me tell you, I have NO idea where we are right now. Why I'm staring at the map then? Because I'm trying to look like I know where we're going.

I glanced at the map and saw the small area labeled Phoenix Drop. Oh how I missed home right now...

"So where are you taking us?" Travis asked me with a smirk and I groaned. He knew I didn't know where I was going...

"It's a surprise." I said.

He raised an eyebrow. "Ok. Excited to see what village there is on an ocean ." He said as the forest cleared and it revealed a vast ocean.

I blushed. "I wanted to come to the ocean!" I exclaimed trying to hide my failure. I wasn't lying though. I've never been to a beach and I've wanted to go.

"Oh you should've told me. If you told me we would've been here hours ago." He said and I groaned.

"I don't know where I'm going okay!?" I exclaimed. "I've never been around here, and I have no idea what to do with this useless piece of paper!"

Travis grinned. "Knew it. See you can't take care of yourself. You need me."

I didn't know what to say back to him so I just glared at him.

"Here pass me the map." He said and I handed it to him. He put it in his bag and started walking.

"How... do you know where to go?" I asked him.

"I've traveled around here countless times, and so I know my way around." He explained to me. "The maps all in my head." He said pointing at his head.

"Ok, so where are you taking me?" I asked him, slightly dissapointed we couldn't stop by the beach.

"It's a surprise."

After a while, which was a few days, Travis and I arrived at a town. It was huge and beautiful.

There were tall beautiful buildings and a huge house in the middle. There's were vast grasslands around, and many farms. There was also a beautiful river running through the middle of it.

"Wow." I breathed as I was mesmerized by the place. It was much larger than Phoenix Drop, and was much more beautiful. Though Phoenix Drop is much more festive, this felt like it was from a fairytale. It seemed just a bit familiar, but I wasn't sure why.

O'khasis was much larger, but it doesn't look as beautiful as here, and it had a much darker atmosphere. That's why Garroth liked to come to Phoenix Drop. His father wasn't exactly... the best ruler.

"I know. It's beautiful isn't it?" He said, staring at the town.

"What is this town called?" I asked him, not yet able to take my eyes off of the place.

"Falcon Claw." He said as he started to walk towards the town gates. "Are you just going to stare at the town or are you coming with me?"

"Coming." I said excited to see all the buildings up close.

As we were about to pass, 2 guards stopped us.

"Where are you from, and why have you come?" They asked, not letting us through.

"I'm from Rama." Travis said. "We're here for sightseeing."

The guard nodded and looked at me.

"I'm from... Phoenix Drop. I'm here for sight seeing as well." I said.

The guards eyes widened as I said Phoenix Drop, but let us through with a nod anyways.

After we walked through, I tried to keep walking but Travis stopped me. "Wait wait wait wait. You're from Phoenix Drop!? Why didn't you tell me!?" He asked.

"You never asked." I calmly said, trying not to let the emotions out.

"Is that... why you were washed up from the river with burnt clothes?" He asked me and I nodded.

"Yeah. I don't know how I got out my-." My voice cracked but I held the tears in. "My family and everyone else important to me died over night." I said my voice wavering slightly and I calmed myself down. I didn't dare let a single tear come up, no matter how much my throat strained from in.

"I'm...I'm so sorry I didn't know." He said and I shook my head.

"Don't apologize it's not your fault." I said in a calmer voice than before.

Travis hugged me, which took me by surprise because, I don't know maybe I just met him a few days ago? But I let him hug me because it comforted me.

"Thanks." I said.

Question of the day: super hot summer, or cold winter?

I prefer cold, because you can wear layers, but in summer you just die.
