"Come on, don't you want to go to a party?" Skye urged, big golden amber eyes pleading for lack of reason.
"I thought you didn't like parties?" Cairo arched a brow, while pushing her cotton candy pink hair behind her ear.
Allison took a bite of her sandwich and mumbled with a mouthful, "It's high school, we're supposed to at least experience this stuff."
"Exactly!" Skye agreed almost too eagerly. "If majority vote rules that parties suck we'll never go again. Plus, this is Vincent Stone's party!"
"You mean Jackie Stone's older brother who throws wild college parties and is constantly intoxicated? That Vincent Stone?" Cairo asked wide eyed, she grew cautious. Vincent Stone and his friends all looked intimidating and like guys just moments away from being locked up in a cell.
"Yes, that Vincent Stone. What other Vincent?" Skye scoffed, rolling her eyes carefree. "He's just my type too!"
"I don't think you're his type though," Allison murmured, lacking any filter.
"I am too!" Skye gaped, honestly offended.
"No, Allison's right, we're kind of...squares?" Cairo admitted a bit questionably, Allison nodded while taking another bite of her sandwich. "And we're in high school."
"Hey, bad boys like to turn good girls bad," Skye claimed. "And I'll be eighteen in two weeks. As far as I'm concerned I'm exactly his type, even if he doesn't know it."
It was 11 o'clock and Cairo's parents had agreed to let her go out for a late night movie marathon at Allison's house. It wasn't the first time she'd lied to her parents, but it was the first time she'd lied to go to a party.
When they arrived as she'd suspected, the trio ended up sitting on a couch sipping beer out of red Solo cups. Music made the room around them vibrate to life, and people were red faced and drunk all around them, sloppily dancing to the dub step. Someone had set up one of those little disco balls you plug in and flashes of pink, blue, and orange went off around them. The smell of spilled beer and sweat made Cairo's nose wrinkle in distaste.
Frat guys kept shouting things and people cheered and she swore every ten minutes whatever game they had been playing seconds ago switched to some other thing. People were playing in the kitchen and dancing and talking in the living room. It just felt too awkward being surrounded by twenty years old when you were still a senior in high school.
"This sucks..." Allison grimaced at the taste of the beer. She played with the ripples on her grey skirt she was wearing, it looked great with her black sleeveless crop top.
"Yeah," Cairo agreed placing her cup on a table and refusing to touch it again.
"It's okay..." Skye said quite forced placing the cup between her thighs that were bare because she was wearing a skin tight black dress, daring as always.
"So is this it?" Cairo asked over the music. She looked at her burgundy high tops, she was just wearing black short shorts and a burgundy tank top with black text that said, "Weirdo!" on it. Her hair was down and as messy as usual, her square glasses slowly running down her small nose as the hopes of having fun sank deeper and deeper into this smelly couch.
"No!" Skye told her, obviously trying to salvage such a failure of a night. "We need to dance."
She took hold of Allison's and Cairo's hand tugging them both to the glamorous dance floor that was the center of the living room. They succumbed to Skye's contagious enthusiasm, dancing along with her, until Cairo had an urge to go to the restroom.
"Ima go look for a toilet," Cairo whispered into Skye's ear and Skye nodded pointing upstairs.
Upstairs it was much quieter and she looked down a hallway to find that pretty much every door looked the same and they were all closed so she'd probably have to peek into each one to see if she could find a toilet. She had the courtesy to lightly knock on each door before opening them just an inch or two to peek inside.
When she came to yet another white door she heard the slightest of sounds coming from inside and she wondered if this was the restroom and if someone was already using it. She knocked and no answer came, she opened it and as she opened the door she took a step inside a very dark room unknowingly tripping over shoes.
Someone switched a lamp on and she looked up startled. Even more so when she saw two blood red eyes staring into her dull grey ones. They belonged to a shirtless guy, one with abs and tattoos running down them, worn out jeans that hung low on his hips, a small trail of hair going down making her blush at the thought of where it led. These features belonged to a guy who was being mounted by a shirtless girl who was wearing a lacy bra and had very big breasts. Cairo felt her face turn hot. For more than the simple reason two half naked people were in front of her on a bed so ready to commit a lewd act.
No, she was bright red because for some reason the girl didn't register, in fact Cairo couldn't even recall the girl's face because all she could do was stare at the guy, her mouth was dry and she felt hot. Hot in more places than just her face, and tingly. Her clothes felt like too much and like she shouldn't be wearing them and she found herself actually taking a step forward.
The guy gave her a grin, baring pearly white teeth, he pushed his hair back raising himself as if getting ready for her to join in and she snapped out of it.
"I'm so sorry!" She nearly shouted as she turned on her heels getting tangled in someone's shirt and the floor was getting dangerously close to her face, just before everything went black.
"Sarah, go get some ice down stairs for this little one, her face is going to hurt," spoke the red eyed mystery guy.
The hazy eyed girl stood up and walked towards the door as she reached for the door knob. "Sarah, don't be ridiculous...put on a shirt."
