“I have a few questions.” Eli didn't miss a beat as he approached the last person he ever wanted to see.
“What an astounding day, the day my baby brother comes to me for help,” Ethan murmured with a smirk.
“Is there a way to break the spell?” He asked, trying not to dwell on Ethan's mocking tone.
“You fuck the girl and make her forget you,” Ethan told him losing interest in the conversation. “You know this.”
“I meant another way of breaking it?” Eli muttered with a tightly set jaw.
“I've just told you how to break it,” Ethan muttered as he refused to look up at Eli from the paperwork on his desk. “Why are you still here?”
“I can't have sex with this girl,” Eli growled, red eyes glowing with anger.
Ethan looked up, similar red eyes just as angry. “Watch your tone.” It was a threat. “And why not? If you don't, you won't be able to have anyone else under your spell, and you'll grow weak, if you're weak and refuse to collect energy you'll die.”
“I messed up,” Eli mumbled, feeling guilt wash over him. “She's a virgin.”
“You've never taken someone's virginity?” Ethan barked out in laughter. Eli could feel that growl rising in his chest, he hated Ethan more than anything. If he could ask anyone else he would, but he didn't know who to ask.
“It'll be a treat for yourself,” Ethan told him with a smirk. “Now get. I have work to do.”
“Useless,” Eli muttered.
“Watch it,” Ethan murmured, his voice as smooth as silk. “I take care of you, little brother. I'm practically your father, you owe me more than you can imagine. So behave.”
Eli stormed out without another word. Ethan had been taken care of him since they're parents disappeared when he was seven years old. Ethan was twelve years older and had been nineteen. He'd dropped out of college and taken over their father's business. He'd dedicated his life to running a successful business and had taken care of Eli to an extent.
But he'd never been very affectionate towards Eli, he was distant and almost accusing of Eli for everything that had happened.
Eli walked towards his room, he laid down, heart rate slowed and he could feel the hunger in his body for any sort of affection. What a sad creature he was born to be, one starved for sexual energy and unable to attain real emotions with anyone. All those emotions people had for him were empty, just like magic.
The next day when he went into the high school to grab Cai he noticed the two girls that were always with Cai look at him as he walked into the class. They actually looked at him and startled him...having Cai remember him was affecting other people around her. If he wasn't careful he might actually stick out.
Once Cairo caught sight of him she gathered her things quickly before rushing to his side, he contained a smile as she stood next to him. She was looking down at the floor, avoiding his stare.
“Come on,” he ordered as he began to walk towards the parking lot. She stumbled to follow after him, he’d been avoiding trying to make moves on her because she didn’t act like she was under his spell. He’d tried to have another girl under his spell, but nothing had happened. So when Vincent had invited him out with his new girlfriend and mentioned a cute pink haired girl and a modelling blonde girl he’d jumped at the chance. Yet Cairo behaved like she was completely immune to him.
She was quiet as she sat in his car, bag clutched in her lap. He kept glancing at her, but she just looked straight ahead. She refused to look at him. He noticed her rosy cheeks and decided maybe he did have some effect over her.
