Cairo had been extremely excited about starting college, she was taking every class she needed to become a doctor. Skye was studying mechanical engineering and graphic design, she even joined the drama club here. Ally was studying photography and fashion design. They would always come to get Cai when they all got out of class.

“Are you ready to go?” An impatient Skye asked.

Cai frantically kept looking around the table she'd been sitting at, shifting her books and scouring through her backpack.

“Did you lose something?” Skye asked worriedly now.

“I have this jade dragonfly charm and I've had it forever,” Cai explained. “It's really important and I can't find it.”

“Aww, did your parents give it to you?”

“No.” Cai shook her head, she couldn't answer that because she honestly didn't remember where she got it, she just knew she wanted it back. “Go meet Ally, Garrett, and Vincent in the cafeteria, I'll catch up as soon as I'm done here.”

“I can help!” As soon as she offered Skye’s stomach let out a loud growl and she turned bright red. “I'm so sorry, I skipped breakfast.”

“Go eat.” Cai gave her a smile and pushed her towards the door. “I'll be there soon.”

“Okay, I'll buy you a sandwich so you can eat it in your next class in case this takes long,” Skye called, rushing out.

“Thanks!” Cai sighed crouching down to look around the table, she'd seen it strapped onto her bag when she'd placed it down by her feet. It must've fallen, no one would steal it, would they?

She decided once everyone finally filed out of the class that she'd look everywhere.

She gasped as she caught sight of it across the room, she noticed someone sleeping there on one of the tables and she slowed. She picked it up from two feet away from the sleeping figure. Maybe she should try waking him up, he could be late for something.

She peered down at his face and blushed at such a gorgeous sight. He looked like a model, perfect facial features. A strong jaw, straight nose, sexy cheekbones, and his lips were perfect. His hair was black and his skin was caked in tattoos, but it really suited him. She noticed she was staring and blushed. He looks so cute and peaceful. What color were his eyes?

She stepped back and nearly tripped, knocking a chair over. She whipped her head back at him and noticed he was stirring. With the dragonfly clutched in her hand she ran over to grab her backpack and ran out like hell hounds were at her heels.

For the next week she kept looking back at him and noticed he was always sleeping. If he was turned towards her she'd refused to keep spying, but if he happened to be looking away she'd continue to peek curiously.

He was also in a few of her other classes, all the science ones. Maybe he was studying to get into Med school too, she couldn't picture him as a doctor with all the sleeping he was doing. How was he paying for these classes when all he did was sleep? He was probably failing all the classes, he had to be.

“Wow!” Skye marvelled. “Third place! You're so smart, Cairo!”

Ally smiled at the result scores posted outside of the classroom. “That's really good, Cairo. You're in the top five of all your classes.”

“I wonder who that is?” Garrett mentioned indicating to the name of the only person who got a hundred on the test. Eli Harding. “I've noticed him as top of the class in some of your other classes too, Cairo.”

“Oh, that's the guy with all the tattoos,” Vincent began. “He looks like some sort of hipster magazine model, he kinda sticks out. You'd notice him if he was in the class. He used to party a lot and girls flocked him, but I haven't seen him at any parties for a while now.”
