The rest of the night had been too awkward to enjoy, Liam was fuming from the inside out, Vincent was suddenly very quiet and obviously felt guilty for having invited Eli to begin with, and you could tell that both Ally and Skye were torn between wanting to bombard Cairo with questions and acting sympathetic towards Liam. Garrett had sat with them, but remained silent. The unknown couple and girl had become awkward and the rest of the group from our school had sat at a different table not chatting much.

Vincent and Garrett took Liam to the restroom to try and calm him down and Ally and Skye saw their chance to pounce.

"Who's Eli?!" Ally gaped.

"Why was he acting like that?!? Did you guys hook up?" Skye nearly shouted.

"He's in charge of me for my College Bio class," Cairo mumbled the explanation towards Ally, wanting to shrink down into the booth.

"Cairo is the luckiest girl alive," Skye said with a wide grin.

"Weird, I've never noticed him before when you're walking out of class," Ally frowned.

Not unless he wanted you to, Cairo thought. She shook her head, she shouldn't believe him so easily. She was just starstruck when she'd dealt with him earlier, it wasn't like he'd controlled her in any way.

When Cairo got home she sat in her room and she kept thinking about Eli. She looked him up online, feeling like a stalker, but to her surprise he didn't show up at all. Guess he only showed up in real life.

She jumped at the sound of a rock hitting her window and she opened it to see Eli standing in her backyard with a large grin, still in the very same clothes of earlier.

"I see you didn't bring Liam home with you," he called.

"Shhhh!" Cairo whispered urgently looking towards her door. "My parents will wake up."

In a few seconds he'd managed to climb up her wall and was sitting on the window sill, his face inches away from her stunned one. Their breathing stirred together and she was caught in his blood red eyes. They looked so real, with slivers of other colors inside the deep red, it didn't look solid and fake like contacts, there were imperfections in the irises.

"I see you are interested in me," he taunted, his eyes on her laptop that was left open, his name in the search bar. She ran over slapping the laptop close.

"It's not like that," she mumbled, her face hot again. She turned to face him only to find his standing in her room right in front of her.

"Have you given thought to my proposal?" He asked. "I don't mean to be rude, but after a few weeks I'll become restless and relentless about needing some affection from you."

He took a strand of her hair between his fingers playing with it, she swore she could feel electricity course through his fingers into her. Something linked them together. He looked at her with something that made her stomach flip. Lust, need, something primal?

"I can't have sex with you," she mumbled in a small voice.

"You don't believe me, do you?" He asked with a smirk. "I could show you strength that only I carry that would make you believe magic is real. Do you want to see?"

Part of her wanted to smile, to laugh because there was no way, but for some reason she nodded. Maybe it was the fact that if she shook her head no, he might just leave.

He quickly jumped down and grabbed a rose out of her mother's rose bushes, brought it up to her and she watched as he crushed it within his hands, the petals bruised and the stem snapped in a few places. It fell apart within his hands, he held it up in a hand, right in front of her face, and it began to glow, slightly and like a beating heart. The stem, the petals, everything became more vivid than when it still remained attached to the bushes.

Her eyes widened and he handed it to her. She watched it as the glow dimmed and finally died down.

"How?" She looked at him.

"I can share my life energy with other living things, among other skills," he explained, he leaned in taking her mouth with his. Shocking her as she melted underneath his lips, as he moved firmly against hers, just as she felt his tongue run over her bottom lip he tore away the amazing feeling. "I can show you where my real talent lies, if you want."

Cairo turned bright red and she covered her mouth still shocked. Her lips felt warm and tingly.

He eyed her before gaping at her. "That wasn't your first kiss, was it?"

She nodded still covering her lips, her eyes as wide as saucers.

He groaned. "I'm sorry, I just, it's that when I use powers I use up my life energy and I need more, and the only way I can get more is by basically feeding off your affection and sexual energy."

After a moment of silence he buried his face in his hands, and she noticed that he was actually conflicted by their situation.

"This is so fucked," he groaned. "You hadn't even been kissed before this...and I have you under my spell. The longest I've been able to go without sex is about a month without showing symptoms. I've never had a girl remember me this long either...look, Ima try to fix this. Try to forget about me, alright?"

Before she could say anything he was already jumping over the gate and leaving. He wasn't human, and he was all she could think about, but he wanted her to forget him.

She held the rose in her hand all night, staring at it with wonder. She'd never believed in anything magical before, but she couldn't deny what he'd done. Her heart fluttered just thinking about the things he told her. It had been so real.

A/N: Song. :3
I decided to post this chapter too, because the last one is really short.
Picture is Vincent Stone! Played by Lucky Blue Smith. Him and Skye are cute together. *~*
