I ran down the hill. It's a long way to school. Why did mom and dad decide to move so far away from everything? It's just unpractical. And all my old friends? They're gone. I ran until I got to the school gates. Perfect, I'm ten minutes late and I don't know where my class is. This won't be awkward. I breathed out for a moment before I ran inside to the principals office. He's obviously the one to go to right now. I got to my classroom after ten more minutes. The principal understood that I was late and said it the teacher. I opened the door and the teacher reacted at once. He jumped up and said "We have a new student. Her name is Sam. You can sit there beside Dan" he pointed at a desk in the back of the classroom. I walked to it and sat down. I put my own books in the bookcase and took out my pencil case. Dan looked at me. The teacher said "Sam has just moved from Canada" I nodded. Dan asked me what I like to for fun. "Drawing and reading" I answered. "Cool" he said. I saw in his eyes that he didn't mean it. I smiled anyway. "What are your hobbies?" I asked him. He said that he likes to play football and hanging with friends. Perfect, now I'm sitting with the typical school jock. I guess he thinks I'm a nerd. I am though, so not a loss at least. I'm not the stereotypical nerd. I'm outgoing and social. I was pretty popular on my last school if I'll say it myself. The rest of the class was boring. We had to multiply stuff and divide other stuff. Pretty boring if you ask me. Actually, the rest of the day was boring. Not much to say about it. I took my backpack and went home.
