"Yeah, I managed to sneak off a little earlier. So, what did he tell you?" Cynthia was leaning on her car door swinging the keys in her hand. Stacy, who was walking down the stairs of her apartment building's entrance, had just asked how Cynthia had managed to come by so early.

"Right to business I see."

"I'm sorry. How are you, Stacy? Is everything alright around here?"

"No, no. It's no problem. Let's get to business. I met with him yesterday. Okay, the good news is that there is hope. I tried to act unconvinced yesterday, but I think he's a really good lawyer. He might be able to pull through for us. But the more challenging news is that we need hard evidence. For everything, that is." Stacy, after sitting down on the bottom step herself, patted the empty space next to her, indicating for Cynthia to sit down. Cynthia complied.

"I don't know exactly where he might keep the deed for that lodge, and we don't know if he really bought it before we got married. But I got the office key yesterday."

"His office key?"

"Yes, I took an impression. He tags all the keys so it wasn't that difficult to spot. What if we stop by his office tomorrow and see if we can get something?"

"How? Won't he be there?"

"We can make a plan, can't we?"

"Yes..." Stacy paused for a few seconds then asked, "Now where would someone hide a deed?"

"See, I don't know how paranoid he is," Cynthia replied. "If he doesn't expect anyone in there he wouldn't go to great lengths to hide it, right?"

"I mean, it's not like he expects you to go snooping around his office. Why would he bother hiding it?"

"I don't know anything about his schedule though. Or when he would not be in the office."

"Do you know if he has a PA?"

"I think he does."

"If he does, we can get his schedule from her. He doesn't come home for lunch, does he?"

"He packs something for lunch, so no he doesn't come back. I'm assuming he keeps it in the coffee room or something."

"Let's go. Tomorrow. And we'll see what we can do there. As they say, we need to know the territory before we can attack."

"I'll have to call in sick again... Alright, I'll text you. Gotta go fetch the kids." Cynthia stood up and walked back to her car.

"Sure. Can't wait to see those cuties again. See you tomorrow, then."

"See you."

Stacy stood behind on the steps for a while after Cynthia had driven off, thinking of tomorrows events.
