It's been two weeks since the Yacht party and I've been living in my own personal hell. Preston didn't return Tyson on Sunday like agreed; thank god he actually pretended to be a father and brought him to school that Monday. I had to instruct the teachers and principle to never allow anyone but myself to collect Tyson from school. Threats of a law suit keep coming my way, although I should be suiting him for child support. Stupid bastard.

I haven't spoken to Cameron since the party; including emails as well. If it wasn't work related, I heard nothing from him, nada, zilch.

"You look awful" Matt greeted from the desk.

"You're back" I smiled in excitement. "I've missed you so much. You are actually right on time, new project!"

"I know. The one I was working on is over, thank god. Those people are really serious about their work, unlike us" he joked. I laughed for the first time in weeks.

"So how was it up there with the big boys" I asked as I sat on his desk.

"Full of testosterones. Too much of it, if you asked me. Seriously, what have been going on recently, you look like someone ran you over and then backed up a few times"

"Personal shit. Everyday it's something different" I sighed. The elevator opened and Cameron exited with an exotic woman behind him. He nodded in our direction and then turned back to the woman beside him. She wore an expensive looking pencil skirt with a blouse buttoned one button too low, if you asked me.

"Good morning" I called sounding a little too desperate and a little loud. People in the office turned towards me in wonder and annoyance. Cameron barely smiled as he turned back to the lady.

"Who's that?" I asked Matt as I stared at them walking down the hallway.

"His secretary"

"Couldn't he have found a man? I haven't even seen her before, where the heck did she come from?" I muttered.

"No, Kat. She's his personal secretary. She doesn't work for the firm, she works for him." The no dating rule doesn't apply. That's all that rang in my head. My throat became thick and my palms sweaty. "Plus I think they are doing it, don't you?"

My head snapped to Matt "You think so?" I asked in a whisper.

"Of course. I mean look at her, who wouldn't want some of that."

I stared at him blankly as I felt water begin to pool in my eyes. I mustered up all the strength I could to smile at Matt and then went into my office. I took my heels off as I paced the room. This was what I wanted right? To be left alone...

But I have feelings for him. I mean why else would I be jealous of that girl or any other women. Should I tell him I changed my mind? Would I look pathetic? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of my whole speech? What if he rejects me this time because he's... found someone... better...

I groaned as my computer pinged. After weeks of anticipation, I learned to stop getting my hopes up that Cameron would be the one to email me.

Matt Curts

Meeting in five minutes, Room DC3. Monthly projections, super fun!

I smiled because I was weirdly looking forward to this meeting. Cameron will be there. He will be talking about different ideas of possible blah, blah, blah. He will be there.

I grabbed my notepad and folder, put on my shoes and headed for the washroom. Matt was right, I did look like shit. I didn't bring make up with me so I washed my face, fixed my hair, and put on lip gloss.

I headed to the room with fake confidence and high expectations.

"Welcome, welcome." Rory smiled as I entered. He was one of the accountants for the firm.
