13-No Choice

BIANCA'S POV

I cannot move when Chris let go of me. Hiyang - hiya ako sa ginawa niya pero siya, proud na proud pa. I saw Armel smiling and even Mr. Fernandez.

"Wife? When did you get married?" Si Nadine iyon. Alam kong hindi nito nagustuhan ang nalaman.

Naramdaman ko ang braso ni Chris sa bewang ko.

"Three weeks ago," sagot niya.

"And you forgot to mention that to me two days ago when we talked?" Sabi pa ni Nadine.

"I don't need to tell you what is happening in my life, Nadine." At tumingin sa akin si Chris. "Besides, I am busy creating great memories with my wife."

Napalunok ako at nakatitig lang kay Chris. Suddenly, I felt my heart is melting. Parang gusto kong maiyak. This is the first time that a man did this to me. 'Yung naramdaman ko na ako 'yung pinaka - importante sa lahat. He is telling everyone how happy he is with me. Armel never did this. Kahit kailan hindi ko naramdaman noon ang ganitong klaseng pag - intindi.

Chris took my hand and kissed it. I don't know if he is just putting a show in front of Nadine or Armel pero wala na akong pakielam. All I know is that, someone is so proud that I am his wife tonight.

"Congratulations," si Armel ang bumati sa amin.

Nginitian lang ito ni Chris. "Thanks," at bumaling siya kay Nancy. "We can have the meeting that you are asking now," sabi niya.

Tumango si Nancy. "Let's talk in my office."

Bumaling sa akin si Chris. "Honey, I'll see you in a bit. I just need to discuss something with Nancy," sabi niya.

Ngumiti lang ako at tumango.

"Miss you already," nakangiting sabi niya at umalis na doon para sumunod kay Nancy.

"Iha, congratulations. You didn't tell me that you got married? Mukhang mabait na bata naman si Chris," sabi ni Mr. Fernandez sa akin.

Nahihiyang ngumiti lang ako. "That is supposed to be a secret, Sir."

"But your husband cannot hide his excitement. I am so happy for your, Bianca. Looks like Chris is so madly inlove with you."

Nakita kong umirap lang si Nadine at umalis doon. Pumunta ito sa harap ng buffet table at nagtingin ng mga pagkain.

Napahinga ako ng malalim. So I think, working with Nadine will not be as smooth as I thought it would be.

CHRIS' POV

"So she is the lucky woman. Antoine is right. She is pretty," sabi ni Nancy ng makarating kami sa office niya.

Natawa lang ako at naupo sa couch niya doon.

"Na - ichismis na pala agad ni Antoine," sabi ko.

"Did you tell her why you resigned from Springsville?" Tanong pa niya sa akin.

"It is better this way that she doesn't know anything about me. Saka puwede ko bang sabihin sa kanya na kaya ako nag - resign kasi darating dito ang representatives ng Koche Industries?" sagot ko sa kanya. Nancy gave me a headstart about that kaya napilitan akong mag - resign.

Nakita kong sumeryoso ng mukha si Nancy.

"Chris, when Nanay Josie told me your problem about your family, I didn't hesitate to help you. But I think, five years is enough for trying to run from who you really are. You cannot hide the fact that you are the sole heir to Koche Industries." Sabi niya sa akin.
