A New Beginning (Elijah x Elena Love Story)

Wake Up Call

"He was right. They are back".

My stomach swarmed with butterflies when Colleen told me this. I then thought about Klaus' threat that he made. Elena. My eyes grew wide with fear as I knew Elena was by herself and had no idea about Klaus. Klaus would go after Elena to get revenge on me.

I jumped up swiftly and looked at the witch in front of me, "Colleen, I apologize, but I must leave now. I will be in touch," and left the bar before I could hear her response.

I got into my car and looked at the clock. Coincidentally, the time was now 1 o'clock. I was going to be returning to Elena right on time like I said I would.

Elena's POV

I just finished putting the dishes up in the cabinets. Yep, I have been cleaning the house the whole day since I got back from the doctor's office, but I didn't mind today. I was going to tell Elijah about the wonderful news soon after he got home and I wanted it to go perfectly.  I had everything planned out for a wonderful evening. I went to take a break and sat on the plush love seat thinking of what else I could do. I grabbed my cell phone from the end table and checked the time- it was 2 o'clock now. Right when I looked up, Elijah stepped in the door with a worried look on his face.

As I stood up, he let out a sigh and  walked over to me and pulled me into his arms and whispered, "Elena, are you alright?"

I pulled away and chuckled, "Elijah, of course I'm alright."

I noticed something was off about him.

"Why wouldn't I be?," I asked, smiled, and continued, "Especially now."

Elijah had a confused look on his face.

My smile grew even wider, "Elijah, I'm pregnant."

I could tell he was in shock, but after a few seconds, he wore a huge smile; a smile I've never seen before. Before I knew it, he picked me up and twirled me around. When he finally put me down, his lips collided with mine for a very long, passionate kiss. I wouldn't trade this moment for anything.

For the rest of the day, we spent the whole time being with one another. We watched a movie, I cooked Elijah and myself dinner, and talked about everything. I then checked my phone once again and I saw I had a missed call from Jeremy that was a few hours old. I haven't talked to him since the wedding. This made me feel terrible for excluding my brother like that.

Elijah must've noticed, "Darling, what is the matter?"

I looked up at him and said, "It's Jeremy. He tried to call me earlier. He must think I have been ignoring him- I haven't talked to him since our wedding."

Elijah just nodded and said, "Why don't you go visit him. I'm sure him and Alaric would to see you."

I decided Elijah was right.

 I walked over to Elijah and pecked him on the lips and whispered, "Thank you. I will be back soon. Love you."

He just smiled and replied, "I love you too my lovely Elena." I grabbed my purse and left the house. I couldn't wait to tell Jeremy and Ric about the new, little addition that was coming into our family soon.

When I arrived, I had a very strange, bad feeling. I quickly speed-walked over to the front porch of the door and rang the doorbell. After waiting for about five minutes, no one answered. I knew that at least one of them had to be here; Ric’s car was here and the lights were on.I then decided that I was going to invite myself in. I cautiously twisted the doorknob and entered the door.  Everything looked perfectly normal, but I knew it wasn’t. No one was in the living room, so I went to the kitchen.  

“Jeremy? Ric?” I called out.

There was no answer. I grew very nervous and frightened. I then decided that I would go up to my old room. So, I went up the stairs and stopped at my door, remembering all of the memories while being here. I then slowly opened the door to my bedroom to reveal a disturbing sight. Jeremy and Alaric were on her bed, not moving-they were dead. There was blood on the wall behind her bed that read, “It is time, brother. Elena and your child is next”. I quickly dropped to my knees and cried all the tears I had.

After 20 minutes, I shakily pulled out my cell phone to call Elijah. On the first ring, Elijah answered.

Before he could get a word out, I half sobbed and said, “Elijah, Ric and Jeremy are dead. They’re dead. They’re gone."
