Hey Everyone! This story was a dream that I turned into a story! Hope ya enjoy!
The sun was beating down on my shoulders as the waves crashed along the side of the small wooden boat. I squinted in all directions but couldn’t see anything along the sea’s horizon. I looked again desperately hoping that there possibly could be an island to escape to. I knew I didn’t have much time until the heat would soon kill me, so I ducked underneath the small bench in the boat hoping that this could block the deathly rays of the sun. The rocking of the boat and the sudden wave of relaxation took over me and I felt myself slipping into unconsciousness.
When I awoke, I thought I was in another world. Everything seemed surreal and when I pulled myself up over the edge of the boat, I knew I would be saved. An Island laid ahead of me; sitting in the middle of the ocean as if waiting for me to come to it. I paddled and paddled more, hoping that this could be my way of escape from the lethal waters. I saw rough, sharp rocks in the water ahead and knew the boat would most likely crash if I bring it any closer, so I jumped over the edge and swam to the place where I’ll possibly be saved.
When I arrived on the island the scenery was beautiful. Palm trees swayed in the breeze, the water glistened in the sun, and the noise of the exotic birds echoed in my ears. I smiled at the thought of surviving and hopefully living on this perfect island. I walked up the white, sandy beach and into the dark, deep, dense, jungle that layed ahead me. I saw a small, narrow path and decided I should take; it might lead me to food. As I walked toward it, someone came out. A girl with tattoos and piercing all over her face and arms, stared at me with a puzzled look and then immediately took out her spear. I felt my insides go numb by the sudden danger that I was surrounded by. I stared at the girl, barely believing what was happening. Then, I heard the quiet footsteps of others coming. I raised my hands in surrender and slowly started to back away from the dangerous girl, trying not to startle her more.
It didn’t seem to work because she threw her spear at me. I felt the sharp, sudden, wind sweep by my face due to the fast spear. I immediately turned around and ran back toward the beach. I felt my insides turn due to hunger, but I’d rather go hungry than die with a spear in my back. I ran on the boiling hot sand and my feet burned. My feet were slowly going numb by the burns they were receiving but I threw myself into the crystal blue ocean water and pushed myself into the deep, rocky waters, dodging the arrows shooting at me. I opened my eyes and the salt within the water stung but I had to know where I was going. I saw the arrows glide into the water around my head. I finally saw the faint shape of the small boat and kicked faster.
When I pulled myself onto the boat, I looked back at the dangerous island. I saw the whole village of people on the beach still shooting their arrows at me, hoping they could get lucky and kill me. I felt much better knowing that I’ll be safe back on my old, wooden boat. But an uncomforting thought came to my mind just then: I’m back to where I started.
I felt myself lie down and slowly drift off into a restful, pleasant, and finally peaceful sleep.
