6. Shocked

" But how... how do you know my name? " 

"It's a long story, a good long story I'll tell you when I get out of here don't worry, don't even think about that for now I'm just happy to see you here" she marked a pose and continued "with Josh" looking at his son 

"Thank you, you know it was Josh who had offered to accompany him here, he was the last client I received" 

"Last customer? " she inquier

"Yes, I have a shop, it's Lucy's, but I help her sometimes" 

"Ah good, and I'll never thank him enough because I finally meet you now after all these years" I frowned a little, still astonished at what she said 

"I'm not sure I understand you, ma'am" 

"You don't have to understand me now I'll tell you this in detail when I go out and now that I know that you know my son I know how to reach you" 

"Josh darling, when you come back tomorrow could you bring back my laptop I have something to send to ... no matter, just bring it" 

"Yes, I'll try to remember it" 

" Please " 

"Okay, ahem mom I'm going ... uhm we have to go now I have to drive Ali back home" 

"Ah," she said with that air that means there's something going on between you two, but you're childish enough to tell me what it is, which is totally wrong, then add "I see". 

Josh was kissing his mother and I said goodbye at the same time and as I was going out the door she reminded me that we still had a discussion to complete. Leaving the hospital and during the trip the silence reigned but when we arrived in front of our house I wanted to thank him but he speaks suddenly 

"I don't understand, I mean I can't understand how she knows you and she knows your full name while I don't even remember your last name, no offense, it's hard to remember and sorry for that but this story makes me a little ...scared" 

"You're stupid"  

"Thanks for reminding me" 

"I'm not the one who says it first"

"Yeah, true that "

"But seriously though, I don't understand, she was saying such a weird things, if I can say it" I said 

"Haha, you're saying that my mother is crazy?!" he said laughing

"Oh no I just said I didn't get her, in what she said to me" I said trying to hide my embarrassment "but all is well that ends well, I mean I hope, right?"

"You're still alive so we good nah? "

" Yes." I marked a pause then continued. "What do you mean 'you're still alive'?" I said, mimicking quotation marks

"She knows you, maybe more than I know you so she was nice to you but with the girls who went out with me she wasn't like that at all"

"Ah, I see why she said 'you brought me a beautiful girl' when we were in the hospital"

"No no no it's not what you think, well I'm not a womanizer if that's what you're referring to"

"I'm not thinking about anything for your information, I didn't mention 'womanizer' as I know"

"But ... Well, let's drop that? "

We continued to talk in his car and when it was time to leave he opened the doorkeeper and then walked me to the doorstep of my house and then left, but just four steps ahead I hear the doorbell ringing, I opened and I see him again. "Have you forgotten something? Or did I forget something in your car? "

"Uh ... no, you just forgot to give me your number," he told me in a serious way as if it was the most normal thing in the world. Is it ?

I laughed and said " Oh Boy! You! You're a hell of a guy"

"Please, I'm just asking it as a friend there's nothing behind"

"That's exactly what someone who ..." I stopped and then went on, "okay give me your phone"

" Who... ? "

" No nothing " 

" Go ahead! There is nothing to be ashamed to say, "he said to me, staring into my eyes, the look that had the gift to put me in every state, the look that bothered me too much at the same time he took his phone out. "C'mon"

"Who got something behind his mind, are you happy?" I said trying to pull his phone out of his hand but missed, he raised his hand but I tried to tear him off anyway by jumping like a grasshopper until we fall backwards. It was really embarrassing. I got up quickly and he was still on the ground laughing like a kid then got up to give me his phone. I put my number on it and then let him decide what name he would put. "Here! " 

"Thank you," he said with a smile and made three steps backward then turned but at the same moment he kicked Lucy's pot flower unintentionally and groan.

"Clumsy" I said, then he laughed without turning when he leaded to his car, I watched him until he reached it to make sure that he didn't come back again. He started then went away, I didn't get in until I couldn't see the trace of his car on the horizon. I walked into my room, opening the door and was shocked to see Lucy standing near my bed, angry, when I switch the light on. "Wow, you scared me," I said, touching my chest 

"What were you doing with this boy? " 

I frowned and said "He is in the same class as me and as I was closing the shop he came to beg me to buy a bouquet of flowers for his mother who was sick and who is really kind and ..." 

"Besides you went to see her !? " 

"He had proposed it to me! If Al's mother was sick and he asked me to accompany him for the same reason, would you put yourself in this way? "  

"Alejandro is different"

"But Josh Yes? "

"YOU DON'T KNOW HIM ALISON!"

" SO DO YOU ?!" I said, raising my voice more than we already did "you don't know him, so don't judge him" I really don't know what took me to defend him maybe the fact that he was kind to me today, he always was nice to me, but it was me who saw him differently though.

"Believe me Alison Pierce Nguyen, avoid attaching yourself, I already see what's coming next" she said as she came out of my room. When she was going to close the door of my room she said, "the men of his kind I have known tons, pay attention to whom you entrust your trust"

I had never seen Lucy that way and besides she said all my name, she must really be angry or she knows something more than me. I must know everything. I took a shower and then got ready to go to sleep when all the events that happened today came back to mind, first Josh at the shop and then his mother who knows my whole name and wanted to tell me something while I don't know her neither from Adam or Eve and finally Lucy who screams at me for no reason because of Josh. There is really something wrong with this story and I really have to know what it is, it will take time or maybe not, I don't really know but I will know what it is.

 Tomorrow will be a new day and the day number one of my investigation, I'm impatient for the day she will call me for this mysterious story of how she knows me. Or all this is just a big misunderstanding and I'm being paranoid. 

I was spinning around my bed before I could find sleep.
