"Take the one with the American flag" Kathy said

"I don't wana swim after all" I replied

"Just bring it in case you'll change your mind"

I nod and put all the stuff that I need in my backpack. Lucy was already ready and Kathy like always, go back and forth searching I don't know what.

"What takes you so long ?" I asked hurrying her.

"Theeeee... " she tries to formulate " here it is" she cheers happy to find the top who was mine that she already took from my wardrobe.

"All this time to find that" I lamely said rolling my eyes. "I thought you were searching for your brain"

"Ha-ha so funny" she fake laugh.

Lucy get the car out of the garage and hunks to hurry us.

"Yeah yeah we're coming" I shout from the top of the stairs but coming at the middle of it I remember that I forgot my phone. "Go ahead I'll be right back" I said to Kathy.

"Ugh. I give you 5 seconds if you're not there after that I'll tell Lucy to leave you behind"

I hurried to take it not because she warned me but I just wanna make it quick, we already lost a lot of time preparing so I don't wanna lose another second to appreciate this day.
When I jump in the car I checked my phone and see that I have a new message.

Pool party you can come if you want.

When I send it I remember that it suppose to be a girl time. Then I correct my message.

Actually no... you can't.

I was already starting my car ughhhh... day breaker!!!

Sorry not sorry. I know you'll always have better plans even after something like that 😉

Without a second I receive his answer.

This is going be a good day!!!

We took a place near the pool. Knowing Kathy she is already in it when Lucy was talking to one of the employees. I took my book out of my backpack because I was decided to not swim, I'm not always like that but  today I don't really wanna sleep. I was so into it that I didn't realise that I was already on half of it.
Raising my head to see what's going on in the real life I saw that Kathy made some friends and Lucy she's on the phone.
Back at what I was doing I feel someone sitting in the table next to us but didn't bother to look who it is.

"Paul Coelho huh ?" A female voice says "Good choice"

I looked up to see who this stranger could be "thank you " I said smiling to her.

"Sorry, you're from around here? I've never saw you before." She kindly ask.

"Yeah and no... we just moved her but it was already 3 months ago" I explained

"Oh that explained why"

"Sorry, explained what? I'm not sure to follow you " I said a little lost.

"That Ca..." she starts but was cutted by someone calling her name with a  growling voice. She rolls her eyes and said again "that my brother C..."

"Maddie!!" This time someone is stumblingly coming in front of us, seems like he didn't want her to speak and she laughed, I laughed too looking at his face. I got my eyes wide open when I realise who this guy was.

"Cam?" I said surprised

"Heeyyy" he reply

"Is everything okay ? Why are you here ?" I asked

"Same things as you" he said trying to do it with a relaxed pose leaning on the table but almost fall. I laughed at his gesture.

"So where's your book then?"

The girl... Maddie laughs.

"I... I have it in my phone.... and for tye pool too" he finally says.

"It's better to have it out of your phone" I whisper.

"Okay" he smirks

"Cam'?" Maddie said

"Yeah ?" He reply still looking at me.

"Nevermind. Could you please leave us? I wanna talk to my new friend"

New friend?

"Heyyyyy Cameron" Kathy shouted from the pool " come here"

"See. Someone's calling you. Get lost" she teases gesturing him to go.

"Keep your mouth shut and Ali don't believe what she's saying"

I laugh and nod. When he was heading to Kathy and I was sure that he's far from us I looked back at Maggie.

"So what are you saying ?"  I curiously ask to her

"Cameron is my brother and he didn't want me talk to you because he likes you I heard him saying that, when he was talking to Gabriel in the hallway that's why I dared him to talk to you but he didn't want to and I warned him to do it if he don't" she said not knowing or maybe knowing what that mean. Cam give a preoccupied glance at us from time to time.

"Who told you it's me not that girl on my left side ?" I said laughing at what she said.

"Black skin with curls reading a book..." she paused " I think that the girl in your left side don't correspond with these descriptions. Plus she don't even have the blessing to be beautiful like you"

"Hahaha awwn thank you. You're beautiful too" I said " So Cam is your..?"

"Brother" she replied without letting me ending my sentence

"Ah okay and who's Gabriel ?" I frown

"Our big big brother, but also my bodyguard and he sometimes replace mom when she can't come here"

I frown at what she says not sure to really understand " how could your big brother work as your bodyguard?"

"Not really a bodyguard like working full time as it. I like telling people that he's my bodyguard because he protect me, always. I don't take it as a hard job or something it's just that I like saying that because I know that he's my protector... I don't know if you understand but it's fine if not I just have that in my mind, my own joke." She explains

"Okay I don't really understand but it's okay. He's your real brother then ?"

"Uhm not really my real brother but I take him as one" she smiles

"You said that he replace your mom when she can't come here. What you mean about that?" I asked

" I mean that when my mom can't come here becau..." she starts when a guy is coming at our direction

"Maddie, we need to go now I think..." he stopped then looked at me "Good Morning Miss" I replied, he smiles and he looked at Cam then back at her and continue " I think that Cam can take another car to go home. I have important things to do at home and I know he'll maybe have things to do later" he winks at her and they made eyes contact. The face that you and your bestie do when you think about the same things without saying a word.

"Ah okay I get it" she laughs and stand up looking at me " it was a pleasure ... uhm ?"

"Alison" I said

"It was a pleasure to talk to you Alison. I'll see you soon" she said leaving without letting me put another word.

See me soon ? I'm not sure about that. I laugh at what was just happening here. Kathy and Cam still talk and Lucy, I don't know where she disappeared again.
