I
Today was the day; the day I meet Lauren Knight, the most famous and popular model of all time. And for what? So that I could end up dating her, and then rip her heart out? That seemed rather cruel to me.
How do I even ask a girl like her out in the first place? I mean; her manager said she was looking for a relationship, but I don't think that one of the prettiest models in the world would be that desperate, and by that, I mean me.
My bandmates and I came to the agreement that since i was the oldest, and closest to her age, I would try to fake date Lauren Knight. But the main problem was that Lauren wouldn't know that our relationship was fake, most extremely famous celebrities aren't up for fake dating; especially someone like Lauren.
She'd reject me, obviously, but how do I get her to say yes? Her manager told me to befriend her, the what seems like strong and perfect girl was actually quite fragile.
I couldn't break the poor girl's heart... but how would I not?
-
Walking into the hole-in-the-wall coffee shop, I noticed her right away. She was the only other customer there, and the fact that she wore sunglasses inside, that told me everything I had needed to know.
"Hello," I slid into the booth next to hers. At first, it looked as though she wasn't going to respond, but I caught her head slightly face toward me before quicky turning back to her phone.
"I'm Louis," I held out my hand to the girl in the sunglasses.
"I know who you are, and I know why you're here," her bluntness shocked me. She hadn't looked at me while talking either. "The answer is no, I know that Liz told you about me, but that doesnt mean I approve."
She refered to her manager, one that Simon had told us about, but I had never met personally. Of course Simon told her his plan, but maybe if he hadn't, than this would have worked out better.
"It wasn't my idea," I told her. "Management said that if I didn't date anyone famous, than our band would fail."
"You won't use me for publicity," so much for fragile. She seemed so head-strong. "I will be your friend if I like you, but that's pushing it."
She stood up.
"I won't give you my number either, if you really want to be friends, you have to figure out how to get it yourself."
With that, the girl was gone, and with her was every chance that I had to help my band become famous.
-
After Lauren left, I wasn't sure what to do. Should I lie to my friends, or tell them the truth? Lying seemed like a pretty good option.
I didn't have much time to think though, because before I could register what was happening (get it? register? If you don't than you will in a moment), the coffee shop cashier started yelling at me while kicking me out of the small shop. I thought that she'd want more customers...
As I wandered along the snowy streets of Boston, my phone began to ring.
The caller ID read noneother than Harry Styles.
"Hey Harry," I said into the blackberry cell phone. "What's up?"
"How'd it go with Lauren?" he asked.
Straight to the point that one...
I needed to think of something fast. "It went alright I guess."
"Details?"
"Geez you're just like a teenage girl at a slumber party," I laughed. I needed more time to think of what to say, so obviously I would stall and/or change the subject like any normal person would do.
"Lou, stop changing the subject," he says, now like a mother.
Instead of responding, I hang up. I can't talk to him or any of the others right now; I just can't.
I walk into a nearby bakery. Modern Pastry, the title read. Inside, signs were hung along the walls.
Katy's favorite bakery!

Along with many other signs and pictures.
"Hi!" A girl from behind the counter greets. "Can I get you anything?"
Her smile was so genuine, one that I hadn't seen in years.
"Er," I stood there with my mouth gaping. For some reason, I couldn't seem to close it. I didn't know for sure, but I had definitely seen this girl before. Where? I have no idea; don't ask me.
"Do you want a recommendation?"
I nod, not sure what else to do.
"Well, the North End, here in Boston, is famous for its cannolis. All the restaurants here sell them, and we are not an exception. In my opinion, Modern here has the best, but I don't know, maybe it's because I work here, but I doubt it. I've loved the cannolis here since I was a little girl."
Her eyes twinkle as she refers to the little cylindrical pastries stuffed with cream and other sweets. The twinkle is what tells me that she is telling the truth, not just what she was told to say. Either that, or she was an extremely good actress.
"I'm sure that your bandmates would like some," she comments as I consider buying the desserts. It registers to me that the girl knows who I am, and for some reason that caught me by surprise.
"You know me?"
"Of course I do!" She smirked. "You're Louis Tomlinson, eldest member of One Direction, and the one who wanted to break the heart of my biggest client, Lauren Knight.

I finally finished the first chapter, yes. And so:
Jess writes all of the even chapters and I write the odds!
She'll be writing the next chapter so say goodbye to my writing for a little while until Jess posts Chapter Two, and I can finish chapter three!
Anyway, this chapter may seem a bit confusing. So to clear it up: the girl who worked at the bakery was Liz, Lauren's maanager. Okay, and again this is going pretty fast but I hate stories that go slowly, so...
