Second chance

Chapter 5: The grand entrance

The second day of the orientation week  consisted of various small competitions. E'Elephant took part in the eating competition and came out first. Wayo was too shy to take part but he had a great time laughing at others and cheering them. They  all gathered together for lunch and started making fun of Elephant, pictures of his eating face were already posted on Facebook, courtesy of Montee. Suddenly, the whole cafeteria became quiet, everyone's attention riveted at the entrance. 

The group looked quizzically at each other before turning to where the spectacle seemed to be. 

Ahhhh

 A drop-dead gorgeous girl with an equally handsome boy stood at the entrance. It was obvious they were seniors. Maybe they came to interact with the new comers? Everyone was enthralled by them, it was not only their beauty, but the way they carry themselves. They emanate so much confidence, like they were used to be the center of attention. They paused dramatically waiting for all the students to take note of them,  it was so obvious from the exaggerated pose they were striking. Or maybe they were showcasing their expensive accessories? The girl's Gucci bag, the boy's Louis Vuitton belt, their shinny Rolex and their obviously very expensive branded shoes. 

They smiled beautifully and entered, it all seemed to be in slow motion as  the girl flipped her long gorgeous blown curls behind her just like in the movies and the boy passes his fingers through his hair and looked around flirtatiously. What a grande entrance! (Sarcasm) They managed to capture the attention of everyone.

They walked like they were walking the ramp, but slower, giving everyone more time to look at them. The girl walked straight forward with her head held high, she was already aware of the admiring glances she was receiving from the boys and the envious look from the girls while the boy kept winking and throwing flirtatious glances at any pretty freshman in his sight.

" I wonder what they are doing here", E'Montee whispers at our group.

"Do you know them?", Yo asked.

E'Elephant gasped, "Did you clawed out from under a rock? How can you not know them! They are like the Kardashian of the university!"

" I don't know either, so who are they?" Nate repeated my question, she was the newest addition to our group.

One of the twin replied, "She is the current Star of the university. And the guy, that's her twin brother, he came 5th at the Star-Moon competition. They are very famous and very well known for being spoiled rotten! They act like small immature kids if things don't go their way."

"That's true. She even had a temper tantrum at last year Star-Moon contest because the Campus Moon rejected her proposal," the other twin added. Montee turned to them and asked, "Are you sure the Moon rejected her? There are lots of speculations and rumors that they are dating."

Elephant sighed, "Who could blame him? He is the most handsome and she is the most beautiful here. They make the perfect couple." 

"Don't let their appearance fool you. Despite their immature ways, they are among the toppers of the university!" Montee said to me and Nate.

Just then, the girl stepped on a piece of paper and went sliding.

OH no

She nearly hit the ground but managed to hold onto her brother's shirt, preventing her fall. In turn, this caused him to lost his balance and he had to hold onto the nearby table. They both went sprawling across the table. She fell face down onto a plate a rice and her brother got a mouthful of Thai ice tea over his hair and face!
