Chapter 2: Cruel fate (part 2)

They were quiet the whole time. Yo didn't have a clue of what to say to Pha as he looked aloof with his unapproachable aura, so he didn't dared start a conversation with him. They watched  a movie of Phana's choice. It was a horror movie so Yo agreed cheerfully as he loves horror movies. However, this could only raise the hope in Yo's heart as he couldn't held thinking that Pha choose this movie because he knows about Yo preferences, especially when Pha asked for a selfie at the cinema! This was the first time Pha addressed Yo directly. He even went to the counter and bought popcorn and drinks for them. This simple act was enough to make Yo content. He happily munched on the popcorn and enjoyed the movie even through Pha didn't utter a single word after. 

After the movie Pha brought them to a chic restaurant and ordered for both of them.

"Is this ok with you nong?"

"Don't worry P, i love food so any kind is acceptable to me,"

"Hum," Pha nodded and started playing on his phone. The silence grew awkward. Yo checked his mobile and a shit ton of messages from Ming, 

 11:30 :" Hey Yo! Good luck man! Don't be too hurried to jumb his bones."

11:35: "Screw that! Fuck him but don't forget protection man. I don't want my friend to be a pregnant teenager, hehehee."

11:38: "What's up? Did you do it already?:

12:26: "Yooooo, reply na! Else i will think he killed you and dumped your body in the ocean!"

I smiled and type a quick response to him. The food arrived and they dig in. Yo attempted to break the silence, "P'Pha.... did you like my gift?"

Phana  started choking. "Am sorry P'Pha, i didn't mean to startle you!"

"It's ok," Pha sipped his water carefully. "Humm..yes your gift..thank you it was lovely."

Yo couldn't determine whether he was telling the truth or not. Pha wasn't looking at him, rather he seemed very interested in his food.

Seeing his cold face, treacherous flicker of doubt started to creep in. Yo couldn't handle it any longer.

"P'Pha, I want you to be honest with me. Why did you accept my proposal? Are you playing a joke on me?"

Pha turned red and started to stammer, "N..NO! no joke nong! ..I just wanted to give you a chance. You you are cu.. cut..cute that's why!" Pha seemed to have so much difficulty in saying that word, but Yo's heart lightened considerably. Yo smiled brightly and said, "Dig in P'Pha, we are going to have a lot of fun! You won't regret your date with me! Promise!"

After that they really had a lot of fun. Pha even smiled and laughed! He was famous for his stoic face and Yo felt his heat beating wildly the whole time he would crack a smile. They parted way in front of the school where Ming was waiting to take Yo back home.

Yo went to bed smiling and he kept telling himself that this was really happening. He was dating the school heartthrob Phana! He woke up in the morning and squealed like a child when he realised all of this was not a dream. He energetically got up to get ready for their second date, humming happily. They had even more fun that day. They went to the local market, had a boat ride and ate street snacks. Yo nearly fell face down but Pha quickly caught him. Pha's long arms were around Yo's waist and they stayed like this a for a few seconds longer, astounded at their first skin contact.  Yo felt  his heart exploding inside his chest. 

"You are too clumsy! Let's go, i will take care of you," Pha said as he held Yo's hand, and thus they walked hand to hand strolling around.

Nearing dinner time Pha suddenly got a call from his friend. He answered the call then turned to Yo, "Have dinner with me!"
