Chapter 7- Hypnosis?

Hayden’s P.O.V

I was directed to the room where Taylor was. I saw Ky sitting outside her room with some random dude. I looked through the window and saw her. She looked so weak, there were various wires attached to her. A door opened with a load bang and in rushed Taylor’s family. Ky got up immediately. They all stood there and stared at her, her mum burst into tears and her dad comforted her. We all sat down. The silence blew over us like a summer breeze. No-one knew what to say or do, so we all sat there and waited for the doctor.

The doctor finally showed up Taylor’s dad got up and impatiently asked what was wrong with her

“It seems she has relapsed back into the state she had been in before the hypnosis.”

“Is that even possible?” her dad asked

“Usually it wouldn’t be but something that happened or someone that was there at the time must have triggered it.”

“So what exactly happened to her?” the doctor asked

All this talk of hypnosis and relapsing made me really confused but it didn’t feel like the right time to ask what they did to her.

Kyren got up an explained everything that happened to Taylor and that it happened because she saw the random guy that was sitting in the corner. (I guess that’s why he was here)

“What did you do the my daughter?” her mum asked frantically

“I didn’t do anything.” He answered

 “Well she’s like this because of you, what do you want from here?”

“I don’t want anything from her, I was there when she was kidnapped I am one of the many children that those people take and train to become thieves and assassins, she was the only friend I had during that time, at least that’s what I thought.”

“What do you mean by that?” I asked

“Well when she got a chance to escape she left without even thinking about me, now she has a family and friends and I’m still living in that Shithole,” he said aggressively

“Language young man this is a hospital,” the doctor said sternly

“That explains why she’s like this though, after seeing you something triggered in her Amygdala and her brain started to reject the hypnosis thus bringing back the memories that were changed due to the hypnosis.”

“What will happen when she wakes up?” her dad asked

“If she wakes up she may either go back to the state she was in before the hypnosis or she lose all of her memories completely.”

A long silence fell over us and no-one spoke or moved for what seemed like a long time.

I broke the silence by asking

“Why did you hypnotise her?”

“Well after we found her it was like she was the living dead she didn’t speak, eat or even move, she would just sit there staring into thin air. We didn’t want her living like that so when we heard about a hypnosis technique that could erase and event form someone’s memories and replace it with something else we decided to try it.”
