*Niall's POV*

Days and weeks have gone by since I asked Zayn what was wrong. Still, he says "it's nothing". The boys and I can tell he's becoming more distant lately.

He doesn't go out with us when we go places. Now, it's to the hotel, arena, studio, or back to the hotel. When the fans are lined up outside, he doesn't go with us to see them. Not even the slightest wave as he walks passed.

"Hey mate. What are you thinking about so hard?" I looked up to see Louis standing in front of me.

I rubbed my hands against my things before standing up. "It's nothing." I said, walking passed him.

"Don't you walk away from me, Horan." Louis half demanded while he followed me.

I sighed and kept walking towards the other lads. "Everyone ready?" A guy asked.

I checked myself over while situating my in-ears. "Let's do this." I smiled, standing in the circle, hands in the middle.

Before we knew it, the concert was half over. I sat on the small steps, listening to the Twitter questions being answered. Everyone had their posters in the air, some random names to follow them on Twitter.

One poster caught my attention.

"This band would be 500% better if Zayn wasn't in it."

The worst part, this girl was standing in the second row. Directly in front of Zayn.

"Louis!" I called him over while more questions were answered. "Who let that girl in?" I nodded my head in her direction when he sat down.

He looked at her and read the sign. "Is she serious right now?" He stood up and walked to the edge of the stage. "Hey!" he pointed at her, everyone was quiet for once. "Did you make that sign?"

She only nodded. "Let me see it." Liam stood up and asked a security guard to grab it for him. "Thank you."

I looked over to Zayn as he walked over to them, taking the sign. "This band would be 500% better if Zayn wasn't in it." Zayn read it out loud, holding it in front of himself. His voice cracking at the middle.

I sighed and stood up. "Guys, why do you bring signs like this?" I pointed to the sign still in Zayn's hands. "Can't you see it hurts all of us? We wouldn't be 'One Direction' without Zayn. None of this would be the same, if Zayn wasn't here."

"Yeah. So, if you're going to come to our shows, don't being things like this." Louis stepped in. "Bring nice things."

Harry took the sign from Zayn, tearing it apart into different sized pieces, making Zayn laugh a bit. "On with the show!"

--

"Thank you, lads... For earlier..." Zayn said quietly once we were back on the tour bus. "I, uh... it means a lot more than you'll ever know."

I watched Liam walk over giving him a small hug, "it's nothing, mate. W- "

"No, it's everything, Liam. You guys do so much for me, and you're always here for me. Without you guys, I probably would have quit by now." Zayn's voice hinted sadness as he looked down with tears in his eyes. "I don't know what I'd do."

"We'll always be here, Z. You can trust that." Louis said, standing from his spot on the couch to wrap Zayn in a hug. "And so will the other lads, don't you give up on us."

Zayn looked around at all of us, sending us each a small, but bright and grateful smile. "Thank you." He shifted from one foot to another before speaking again. "I think I'm going to try and sleep, maybe until the next city."

Harry laugh and mumbled a 'good luck with that one' and closed his eyes, leaning back on the small couch.

"G'Night." I mumbled as he walked out, waving in return.

*Sapphire's POV*

"Hey da, you alright?" I asked, walking into the kitchen.

Da sat at the table, looking out of the window, into the backyard. "Yeah, I'm just thinking." He said quietly, picking up his tea and sipping it.

"Are you feeling okay?" I couldn't help but wonder about him sometimes. "Have you taken your pills today?"

He only nodded and continued to stare out the window until there was a knock at our door. "I'll get it, Dustin said he'd be over today." Da said, standing up and leaving the kitchen.

I sighed and took my phone out, checking the time and sending Niall a message while making my way back to my room.

To Niall: "Hey, not sure if you're awake, or not. Just thought I'd tell you I miss you, can't wait to see you again. x"

I sat down on my bed and leaned over, taking my guitar from the stand and played aimlessly for what seemed like hours.

Da seems to be getting lonely, the accident has really opened old wounds, and has created more questions. I don't want him being upset again, I don't think I can see him like that again. I wish he knew I was okay with him finding someone who made him happy again. I want my da back.

He was so happy and full of life before the accident, I wish he would talk to someone, or talk to me even. We aren't as close as we were before the accident.

I sighed as a tear fell onto my guitar, and my phone started to ring. I looked over to see Niall's bright eyes and smile on my screen.

I wiped my eyes, answering the phone. "Hey."

"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked.

I chuckled, "it's nothing, really. How are you?"

I heard him sigh on the other end. "I'm okay, don't think we're done talking about that though. How are you?"

I shrugged to myself before answering. "I'm okay, just thinking."

"About what?"

"Da. He seems lonely and distant." I frowned.

Niall was quiet for a minute before taking an intake of breath and speaking again. "Just give him time, love. All of this is new to him again, he's got a lot on his mind." He paused. "Just try talking to him, and letting him know you're there if he ever needs to talk."

I smiled a bit, "yeah, I think I'll do that." I yawned quietly. "How was the show tonight?"

I sat strumming my guitar strings quietly, while Niall told me all about the concert, and what happened with Zayn.

"Is he okay?" I asked after he finished.

"I'm not for sure yet, he said he's okay, but I guess we'll see." Niall sighed.

"What about you? Are you okay?"

He paused, listening to something someone was saying, "alright, mate. Sleep well." He said before returning to our conversation. "Yeah, I'm just a bit worn out." He admitted.

I nodded to myself, knowing he probably hasn't had much sleep lately. "Maybe you should go get some sleep, love."

I heard him yawn on the other end of the phone, "I could, or I could sit here and talk to you." I heard a sleepy smile cross his face.

I chuckled, "go get some sleep, Ni. You can call me tomorrow if you want."

He hummed and took a deep breath. "I guess I could." He said "I love you."

"I love you too. Sleep well." I smiled before hanging up.

I set my phone to the side, and put my guitar on the stand. Maybe a little sleep myself won't be so bad.

Haven't had much time on my hands... And I haven't been feeling inspired lately. So I'm sorry if this sucks...
