Yuu and Toshizou cowered in the corner as they watched their papa. His powerful punches and kicks rained down on their poor mama. Yuu trembled violently and clasped Toshizou's hand. He could tell that his twin was angry and planning on intervening again. Toshizou turned to look at him with an icy glare.
"What are you doing?. . . Let go!" Toshizou hissed softly to Yuu. Yuu averted his gaze.
"I-I don't want you to get hurt as well. You know how strong papa is! He could break your jaw again. . ." Yuu whimpered. Toshizou's eyes darkened. He pulled his hand out of Yuu's strong grip.
"I can't just stand here and do nothing! Mama's being hurt. I'd rather be bruised and bloody as well then let her take all of the abuse." Toshizou grunted. Yuu's eyes trembled with sadness and fear. He watched as his brother stormed over to their father, and like the many times before, he started to argue furiously.
Yuu winced as their papa slammed his huge palm into the back of Toshizou's neck. Toshizou let out a choked gasp and fell to the floor. The angry male snapped his attention onto Yuu, who let out a small yelp. He stood stock still, trembling.
"You got something to say too?!" Their father yelled out furiously. Yuu immediately shook his head. He slipped his thumb into his mouth and sucked on it as tears filled his fearful eyes. He was terrified. He didn't want to get hit as well. Thankfully, his papa had finished his assault on the two. He cracked his knuckles before trudging up the stairs.
Yuu dashed out of the corner once their papa was out of sight. He knelt down before the collapsed bodies, whimpering as he pet his mama's and Toshizou's heads. Their mama was the first to open her eyes. She smiled wryly at her crying son. She reached out and cupped his cheek with a bloody hand.
"Baby, shh. Don't cry. . . Mama and Toshi are okay." She coaxed as she slowly sat up, gripping her throbbing temple. Yuu buried his face into his mama's stomach, beginning to sob loudly. She chuckled weakly, not knowing how she could comfort her son. She ended up gently running her fingers through Yuu's fluffy, black locks.
"Yuu. . . You're alright. Your papa didn't hurt you." She murmured softly. Toshizou was passed out on the floor besides his mother. His breaths were raspy. "Let's have a shower and then get the two of you to bed, hmm?" She ruffled Yuu's hair. The boy gently mumbled in agreement. Despite being in a lot of pain, she got up from the floor, trying to hide how she felt from Yuu. She picked her two sons up, placing them on each hip.
She lightly kissed each of her boys' heads lovingly before making her way over to the staircase and limping up the stairs.

Yuu woke up with a start. He was treated to the sight of his mama who was close to his face. She pecked his cheek lightly. Yuu could just about make out the tears on his mama's face in the darkness. Why are you so upset, mama?
He reached out and touched her cheek with his small hand. He felt her jolt at his touch. Her head shot back.
"Y-Yuu, you're awake??" She gasped softly. Yuu sat up as he nodded his head. He rubbed at his tired eyes.
"What's wrong, mama? What's going on?. . ." Yuu mumbled. He took a glance behind his mother and noticed a black duffel bag sitting in the corner of the room. It was filled to the brim with his mama's clothes. He blinked in bewilderment. "Why are you packing your clothes?" Yuu queried curiously. He was much too tired to put the pieces of the puzzle together.
His mama pulled him onto her lap. "Do you want to escape with mama?" She asked in a shaky voice. Yuu immediately perked up the suggestion. He almost said yes when he came to realise that his mama was only asking him and not Toshizou.
