"Adalyn, hurry the movie's about to start!" Kat hollered to me, her voice reaching my ears faintly.

"Yeah, hold on a minute," I shouted back, my attention solely focused on the task at hand.

It was Saturday night and the four of us were having a movie night. After the wild night we had at the same club we visited when we first got here just last night, we all decided it would be best to take it slow today.

I was currently deep in my walk in closet, rummaging through all of my belongings I've packed for a certain item.

"Really?" I nearly jumped out of my skin when a deep voice spoke, amusement in their tone.

Twirling around, I exhale slowly. "Nicholas, why the fuck would you scare me like that?"

He was leaning against the door frame, his arms crossed over his chest--how cliche.

He smirks boldly, his eyes taking in the current mess I've made of my closest. "Mind telling me what you're up to?" I scowled at the amusement that was clear on his facial features.

Biting my lower lip, I glance down at my sock covered feet. "I'm trying to kind my fucking blanket."

His lips part, an eyebrow slowly raising. "Oh, so you still need a blankie?"

I flipped him off, turning my back on him, mostly trying to hide the blush creeping onto my cheeks.

"No, I don't need the blanket. I want it."

Turning back around, I rest my hands on my hips. "There's a difference."

He laughed profoundly, his crystal blue eyes shining with mischief.

I glare daggers at him, fuming with anger...and embarrassment. I just wanted my blanket, okay?

Shaking his head, he approached me slowly. "Alright, alright. I'll help you look."

My hand shoots up immediately, resting on his chest firmly. "No, it's fine. I can go without it. Let's just go."

Turning around once more, I reach mindlessly for one of the dozens of sweaters I packed. It was a baggy red one, the word Lifeguard printed proudly across the front with a lifeguard symbol underneath.

It's not as comfy as my blanket, but it'll do.

"Plus, why would you need your blanket when you have me to snuggle with?"

When I looked up at him, he was smiling at me, but it did not reach his eyes.

We were both thinking the same thing. I'm going to be needing my blanket to snuggle with every night after today.

He was heading home tomorrow afternoon.

We didn't say anything else as we strolled out into the living room. We didn't need to.

Adalyn, your constant thoughts are starting to annoy the hell out of me.

That's funny, especially coming from my subconscious.

You remember what Katrina said, right? The only way to make things right is to communicate.

She wasn't talking about Preston, you fucktard!

No...but you were. Weren't you?

Can you please shut the hell up? I'm trying to watch the best movie of all time with my boyfriend before he leaves tomorrow.
