Flash forward to the day of Winter Formal.....Lilac's POV
Looking at myself in the mirror one last time, I take a deep breath noticing all imperfections and stressing to fix them as my amazing sister sits on my bed chewing away on an apple amused.
"Has anyone ever told you how completely useless you are at helping Lianne? Because I feel like that's something you would get told often" I talk to her through the mirror, giving her a look as she flips my off while I comb through my hair with some product.
"I helped you cover up your bruises didn't I? That should be plenty" she says sassily but I freeze up taking a moment to thing of what happened just a couple days before.
If I hadn't walked home that one day alone.
If I had just accepted to take a ride and not lie that I "needed my space".
Lucas would kill Jojo if he found out how bad of bruises I got from trying to escape his own teammate's grip after breathing down my neck, intoxicated and begging for sex.
And this is why I needed to cover the marks up so desperately.
Hearing the knocking on my door down the hall snaps me out of my thoughts, and after checking that my neck and wrists are properly covered, I head out to see my handsome man standing at the door.
He looks amazing.
Lucas's POVGOD HE LOOKS AMAZING I CANT. LIKE WHAT? I mentally marvel at the sight in front of me, not realizing that I'm gawking until Li comes over and closes my mouth with a small giggle.
"You like what you see?" he teases playfully with a wink that probably wasn't meant to be as seductive as I found it. "I'd be crazy if I didn't" I breathe out and his parents coo snapping pictures of us, probably looking horrible since flash was on and we weren't expecting it.
