HAPPY NEW YEARS BABES!!! 🙂😊❤️ (This isn't very long but I felt wrong not posting anything after I missed doing a Christmas one shot)
'Twas the night of New Years Eve, when all through the house
Every creature was waiting, especially Laynie the most.
The children were playing, taking care of course.
And all with good reason, for at midnight Laynie turns four."Daddy! Papa! Daddy! Papa! Daddy! Pa-!" Laynie squeals with excitement meant, getting cut off by a hand to her mouth by her older brother.
"Stop yelling before I take back your birthday gift" Tony frowns, eyebrows furrowed with a huff before going back to his 25-piece puzzle. Lucas snorts at the two, crouching down besides Laynie.
"What's up NiNi?" Lucas smiles, pulling the little girl into a hug before getting up with her on his hip. "What are you going on about, huh?" He tickles her sides, earning giggles and squirms.
"Daddy, I turn 4 in a couple minutes! Did you know that? I'm going to be big!" She yells excited, before looking back at her glaring brother and quieting down. "But not as big as Buby of course" she whispers softly, earning a smile from her brother who continues with the piece in his hand.
"I did know that sweetheart! In just 5 minutes you'll be four years old!" Lucas smiles to his daughter, though internally faces amazement that this bundle of a human being has been his daughter for a year and now turn four. This of course means pre-school soon and boys and tears because of boys and feeling because of boys and gahhhh.
"What's all this nonsense I hear about someone turning four!" Lilac playfully gasps, scooping Laynie in his arms with a big hug. "I thought you were already eighteen or something!" He twirls the little girl around, getting giggles and squeals automatically.
"Thank God she's not" Lucas shivers at the horrific idea, not quite ready to admit she's turning four much less that it will ever be her eighteenth birthday.
"You're too dramatic Lu! You're becoming all sentimental like me now!" He teases as he smiles at his husband, who now is pacing the room as he keeps glancing at the clock on the wall of the living room. Lucas suddenly stops short, turning with an accusatory look at Lilac.
"In three minutes this little girl is turning four. You're okay with this?" Lucas raises an eyebrow. "How are you not freaking out? You always freak out about these things?"
Lilac shrugs with a small smile, looking down at the sleepy girl in his arms. "I think I'm embracing that they can't stay the same age as when we got them forever. Laynie will never be two and a half again" He brushes hair out of Laynie's face as she snuggles into his neck.
"I can't believe it! I'm gaining feelings! I have emotions! Do I need to go see a doctor about these? Are they dangerous?" Lilac rolls his eyes at his stupid but sweet husband's words.
"Maybe a psychologist if you keep this up" He snorts out a laugh, walking over to kiss Lucas sweetly. "Oh honey, you're such a dork!" he giggles. "I would hope you've had feelings for me or else this relationship is going to get really awkward, really quick"
Lucas rolls his eyes with a smile at his lover, pulling him into his chest as he looks down at the two of three most meaningful things in his life. He smiles at Laynie in thought, noticing her closed eyes and falling then rising chest. Lucas gasps looking at a now startled Lilac.
"What? What is it?" Lilac raises an eyebrow confused as Lucas silently freaks out, looking back and forth between the two children. "You're scaring me, what's wrong Lucas?" Lilac frowns.
"Honey, they're asleep! It will be New Years any minute now!" Lucas exclaims, making Lilac's eyes widen as they look at the clock to see it strike twelve on the spot. Lilac looks at the trauma on Lucas's face and cackles.
"Well happy birthday baby girl" Lilac says softly, kissing her forehead and Lucas does the same. They look at each other silently for a few seconds before Lilac nods towards the room. "I'll set the kids in bed if you'll get the cake from the fridge?" He offers and Lucas smiles, nodding as he salutes a "Yes, sir", going off to the kitchen.
the end.
