Lucas's POV

As I stood there at the end of the aisle, trying to remember to breathe, out comes Lilac as beautiful as always. No, this isn't our wedding day but it's most likely my last day.

"Lucas! Where the hell is Toby and why is he not with you?" Lilac glares at me, two year old Delaynie on his hip, sucking her thumb.

"Baba, dada in twubles?" she asks curiously and if I WERENT about to be annihilated, I might have actually had time to coo at our precious child.

"Babe, listen before you attack me. I turned around for a split second to grab his Gerber banana crap and he wandered off to I'd ton know whe-," I explain before hearing little screeches approaching our direction and tiny ringlet curls slowly appear as Toby runs towards me to hug my legs.

"I found him?" I try with a small smile and he glared at me before heading to check out.

                            One Year Later

Rolling over as I grumble, I pick up my pillow and cover my ears to ignore the screaming of my children. All was going well until I got kicked in the ribs, to which Delaynie laughs before almost falling had it not been for my amazing dad reflexes.

"Daddy! It's the first day of kindergarten for me and preschool for Laynie! Get up! Get up!" Toby yells from above me and I sigh, sitting up before pulling on slippers and scooping the two in my arms.

"Let's go fore your dad realizes I still haven't left yet" I chuckle nervously running down the stairs and out the door as Lilac yells at me. I sit them in their chairs and before I know it, I'm parking in front of their school and trying not to cry.

"I love you both! Papa and I will be waiting to hear your stories later when you get home!" I shout after them as I wave, and they smile and wave back before getting to their classrooms.

"He's so stupid and I hope I never have to deal with him again!" Delaynie sobs as she buried herself in Lilac's and my arms. Laynie was going through her first heartbreak and as a gay male, it was nice to be able to relate to my baby girl's pain and help her through it.

"It's okay sweetie! He wasn't worth your time anyways! He had horrid fashion sense for a straight man" Lilac points out as he rubs her back, making her giggle. "Plus he lusts you, not loves you. You don't need that kind of romance in your life right now," he smiles and kisses Laynie's forehead as we tuck in the tear-stained face with covers and say goodnight.

                            8 Years Later

"Do you Alexander Kadber take Delaynie to be your lawful wedded wife? Till death do you apart, in sickness and in health, through wealth and through poor-" the pastor recites yet all I can focus on is the fact that my baby is getting married. She's already in her twenties yet I remember when she was two.

Lilac can't wait to be a grandpa and is hoping she will have twins so they can run in the family even though she isn't blood, just to say that she gets it from him. I just want a healthy baby if that's the path she wants, but okay Lilac.

"-You may now kiss the bride!" he finished and everyone cheers as the embrace in a passionate moment. At that moment, I knew our lives were going to change as she moved in with him, changed her last name, and all the changes of life (even moreso than her first period).

                               3 Years Later

"You see Josie. Mommy and Daddy used to hate each other back in college. Daddy would tease Mommy while she tried to do her work and then one day she got stuck tutoring him" I explain to the grey irises staring back at me as Josephine coos up at me with little grabby hands.

"She's so big for three months Lu" Lilac marvels as he sits by me on the bed and rests his head on my chest. "Laynie was like three pounds lighter at her age"

"She gets her momma's appetite but sadly her papa's metabolism. She's a chunky little baby" I coo to her making her squeal and curl her toes.

Laynie walks into the room with Toby's wife Scarlett, who rubs her belly longingly. "3 months can't come faster. The twins are constantly kicking me at night," Scarlett smiles and sits beside us as we all coo over Josie.

15 Years Later

"That's my grandson! You go Josiah! Woohoo!" Lilac cheers loudly as Josiah runs towards the touchdown zone while men continuously build up in numbers to stop him.

"Sweetheart, calm down a little bit" I chuckle, placing a hand gently on his shoulder and push him down to his seat lightly but he shrugs me off and cheers again.

"Remember when you used to cheer me on babe?" I smile up at LiLi and his hazel eyes form crinkles surrounding them as he smiles back.

"I guess cheerleaders and quarterbacks run in our family line Lu," he leans down to squeeze my hand as he continues to cheer and I continue to adore him.

20 Years Later

Lilac POV

Sitting in my rocking chair, I weakly lean over to rest my head against Delaynie's shoulder who holds me close. "Who did you say you were again?" I ask her and she smiles sadly, wiping away a tear.

"I'm your daughter dad. That's your son" she points to Toby, "and that's your husband, remember?" she points to Lucas before resting her hand on my back to rub it lovingly.

"I don't remember no. But it's alright! Better to have people I can't remember than no one at all" I weeze out a laugh before coughing and the man who supposedly is my husband comes and takes my hand before kissing my forehead and weakly pushes my wheelchair, leading me to my room.

"It's time your dad gets some rest. You guys go home to your grand children and show them the love we should have given you more of" Lucas smiles to them before dragging my off.

2 Years Later, Josie's POV

"We gather together today in remembrance for the sweetest couple you'll ever meet. My parents were one of a kind and I couldn't have been more grateful to have the best dads in the world. I know they are here with us and wouldn't want us to be sad.

Please come say your goodbyes one at a time," my mom finishes before coming off stage from the podium and sits aside watching everyone pile in. Friends, neighbors, past peers.

"I think it's sweet that they got to die and be buried together. Somehow fate treated them well" I smile leaning my head again Mom.

"I guess flower crowns and tattoos go together like bees and honey"
