.:Tylers POV:.
I wasn't only mad at Brendon. I was furious. He knew that I liked Joshua, but he still flirted with him. I didn't talk much to him the rest of the day, I mostly paid attention to Josh and the others. I could tell he wasn't too happy with me being mad at him. But do I care? No. He deserves it, pissing me off like that. Soon he'll get Joshua to like him, and then he just wants to be friends and break his little heart. I will not stand for it. No one will ever, EVER, break his heart.
I have seen Forehead sneak glances at my little Joshua, so maybe he likes him, just maybe. I doubt it, he likes to hurt some people like that. I've seen it happen.
I had basketball after school again today, our first game is coming up. Everyone was quiet until Gerard and Patrick came to watch, then all of us made small talk here and there. Our coach could tell we were gloomy, not just because it was a Monday, but because of other things.
"Okay guys." He blew his whistle for us to stop dribbling the balls, "Come here, huddle up." We all walked cautiously towards him, casting glances to one another to see if any of us were in trouble.
I sat on my ball, the others doing the same. "Yes, sir?" I asked for all of us.
He sighed, "There is something up with you guys today, I can tell. Now tell me, what's going on?"
I took a side glance at Brendon, him looking down at his feet.
Pete cleared his throat, "Something between Brendon and Tyler. They've been playing stiff since the beginning of practice." I looked at the coach, he sighed.
"Alright, Tyler, Brendon. Stay here, the rest of you carry on." Pete and Dallon got up, the rest of the team as well. I rolled my eyes and moved closer to the both of them.
Before anyone could say anything Brendon pointed a finger at me and called, "He started it!" I shook my head.
"Do you even know what the problem is, Brendon?" I asked
"Well.... no." I rolled my eyes again.
"Idiot." I grumbled.
"Hey. No name calling. Now, Tyler. Would you mind telling me what the problem?"
I sighed, "I like someone but I feel like Brendon likes them too, and he is flirting with them right in front of me. Just to get me mad." I crossed my arms and glared at Brendon.
"Maybe I do like that same person. But they don't like me and they like you so...." He shrugged, "And I wasn't flirting to make you mad, only to see what that person would do." I widened my eyes, I didn't really think Brendon liked Joshua.
Our coach chuckled, "This sounds like a girl fight." Brendon frowned, "But, I think that you've just handled it. Okay?" I nodded curtly and turned to my friend.
"We good?" I asked. He smiled and nodded. "Alright, let's get back to practicing." Coach smiled and clasped his hands together.
"That's more like it!" He patted us both on the back and pushed us gently back onto the court.
After practice me and Zack went back home. The drive was quiet, besides the radio playing softly.
When I parked the car we both hopped out and ran inside. When I got into my room, I saw that Joshua was calling me.
I answered on the second ring. When I put the phone to my ear I heard sniffling. "Joshua?! Are you okay? What's wrong?"
I heard him take a deep breath, "U-um... I I... told m-my family that..... that.."
"Go on Joshy." I said soothingly, "You can do it."
"I told them I was gay.. and most of them accepted me... accept..." I heard muffled cries on the other side of the phone, "my d-d-dad."
I closed my eyes, "Oh Joshy, It'll be okay. I'm here. It's okay." Joshua was crying on the other side of the phone.
"I.... I don't know if if I c-can handle this." He whimpered.
"I'll see you tomorrow. And I'll give you the biggest hug you have ever had!" He giggled slightly, "Just wait, my daisy. It'll all be alright."
"Okay, Tyty." I smiled at his new nick name for me, "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Goodnight." I murmured.
"Goodnight." He whispered back and hung up. I was sitting in my chair and leaned back, blowing out air and tangling a hand in my brown locks.
.:Josh's POV:.
When I hung up the phone, I dropped it on the floor and brought my knees to my chest. I locked myself in my room two hours ago, when my father had screamed at me and threw a bottle of whiskey at me. My hair smells of the alcohol, and my face was sticky with salty tears. My mama had did the best she could, but my dad is homophobic and I don't know if we could ever convince him to ever accept me. Now I hate going home, waking up. But the weekends I look forward to, since he is always out of town.
I really hope I can hang out with Tyler and Brendon after school. And I want to dye my hair a different color too, but I don't know what.
I got up and fell down onto my bed, not even bothering to take off my shoes. Right when my head hit the pillow I was out like light.
A/N Okay, so I have a question for you guys, what color do you want Josh's hair to be next? It's pink right now, I'll let you guys decide. How did you think of this chapter? Let me know!
