Chapter Five

"Ever, are you going to be alright? Kimberly can be a real pain, and she does this all the time. She honestly just wants him for his money. Once she found out, that's all she wanted from him,' Ithan explained. Ever nodded still kept in her phone as he talked. "Are you even listening to me?"

"Can you please just keep talking about anything random?" Ever asked, looking up over her glasses and her hands began to shake just a little. Her phone screen was black and she wasn't looking anything up really on it.

Ithan looked at her concerned, "Ever, you okay? Why don't we head back to the table so you can sit?"

"No...I--I'm sorry, but I can't right now..." she said as she began to breath heavy. She called her mom quick and slid down the wall, Ithan stayed there to make sure she was going to be okay. "Mommy..." was all she needed to say for her mother to know exactly what was going on. She was having an anxiety attack. She tried to talk her through it, but her hands were shaking so much that her phone fell from it.

Ithan picked up the phone and spoke to her mother, "Hello? Mrs. Moore, Ever dropped her phone. I'm Ithan. I'm not sure what to do here," he explained and she told him to just talk to her, calmly. Try to get her mind at ease and relax. "Yes ma'am. I will have her call you when she is better. Thank you," he said and hung up the phone. He looked over to see Chad standing there worried, without Kimberly. "Get the pizza to go. We're going home," he told Chad and talked with Ever, calmly. "We're going to go home. We can sit and watch a movie and eat our pizza. A comedy, if you want," he continued until Chad came back and took the pizza. "Take her to the car, I'll be right back," Ithan said. Chad nodded and helped Ever up.
"Come on, my shooting star. Let's get you home," he said with a smile and she nodded, still curled up and shaking.

Chad took Ever to Ithan's jeep and sat with her to calm her down. "What made this happen, Ever?" he asked curiously.

Ever wasn't sure how to say it to him, so she didn't, she texted it to him instead, 'It's hard to explain and I'm not comfortable with telling you about it all right now...' she sent. He looked at her, once he read it, and embraced her in a hug until she calmed down. Ever had never relaxed so quick from an attack in her life.

"Okay, just tell me when you are ready. I don't want to push you into doing anything you aren't ready to do or talk about. I just don't like seeing you in panic or pain. It hurts me to see you that way," Chad explained and Ithan unlocked his jeep. Chad didn't let go, but he did stop talking about that specific topic. "I will always protect you, no matter how far apart we are." he whispered in her ear.
Ever buried her face into his chest in a strange thank you and Ithan came in the car and looked back, "Keep it clean you two," he commented with a smirk. Ever threw a stuffed animal at him that he had in back and chuckled softly. "Hey! Uncalled for, Ev!"

"It was so called for, Ithan Knight," Ever looked up and stuck her tongue out playfully.

Ithan smiled, "I'm glad you're feeling better. Do you still want to head back home and watch a movie as we devour our pizza?"
