Chapter Nine

Chad finally got home and he saw Ithan's car in his driveway. He pulled into the brick driveway and parked at his normal spot, under a small leave less oak tree. He looked at the place he called home and it was a three story mansion style with light grey siding and a beautiful red door at the front. He sighed as he grabbed his stuff from the bed of his truck. He headed to the front door and walked it, "I'm home!"

"Hey bro, how's it goin'?"

Chad turned to see his younger brother sitting on the couch, playing on his phone and what appeared to be his girlfriend hanging on him. "Griffin, your home early. How has Cali been?"

"Great! Sunny every day and parties every night!"

"Yeah!" The girl giggled.

Chad rolled his eyes and headed to his room in the basement. "Griffin drives me crazy."

"There's nothing new, big brother." A light girly voice replied.

He looked over to see his baby sister relaxing on the couch, reading. "I thought I was alone. How's freshman year of high school going for you, Starfish?"

"Hey, you haven't called me that in a long time! What's going on with you, Angelfish?"

Chad stayed quiet and went to put his stuff down in the room. His sister followed him and poked interested even more, "Chad, come on! I know that look! I haven't seen it since Ashlyn. It's a girl isn't it!"

"Lulu, quit it! I told you not to bring up Ashlyn anyway! I lost her and I can never get her back!"

"Whoa...sorry Chad. That was high school, you two broke up. That's normal."

"She cheated on me, Lulu. And then when I confronted her about it, she lied straight to my face. Then she picked up drugs and was stupid."

"That was never your fault. You know that."

"I know..." Chad grew silent again and glanced over to the only picture he had of his first love that broke his heart.

"Chad, tell me about this girl you met. Ithan told me that you know she is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with."

He looked at his dark haired baby sister and his eyes were glowing with love in them, "She is such a sweet girl and we clicked instantly. She is really short compared to me, but I think she is still adorable. She has got the best smile and she is just amazing. I'm just worried Kim will come back and hurt her."

"What's her name?"

"Ever Moore."

Lulu looked at Chad with raised brows, "Give ne a second. That name sounds super familiar for some reason." She ran to the book shelves and searched for a yearbook. She came back with it open to a certain page, "I thought that name sounded familiar. Look," she showed her brother the page.
