It was a cool, crisp, autumn evening and Ever was sitting at an empty, white clothed table with red candles lit in the middle. She was waiting for a guy she had a huge crush on for years and he was three hours late. She kept checking her phone, hoping he had texted her a good reason why he never showed up, but she never got one. Ever ran her tanned hand through her chest length natural orange hair that had blonde highlights in it. Her bangs fell in her green eyes that were blocked by large dark framed glasses. She flipped through her Portrait account and noticed her crush was having a party at his dorm, instead of being there on a simple date.
She wasn't sure if she should comment on the status, but decided not to. She wasn't that type of person to post her emotions to the public. Ever closed her social media app on her phone and put it back in her wallet. She sighed and noticed the restaurant was slowly getting ready to close. Her waiter came up to her and tapped his foot impatiently, "Are you going to order or no?" the waiter spat.
"I'll be leaving in a second..." Ever said softly as she slowly got up from her seat. Another guy was on his way out and he looked behind him to see the scene. He stopped before he got to the door and walked back over to Ever and the waiter.
"We will be staying and eating until we are finished," the guy stated. "Now, can we please speak to your manager?" the guy asked as he sat down at the table for two. Ever stopped and stared at the pale, light haired, hazel eyed, gentleman that sat down in front of her. She was hesitant on staying, but the slightly older guy seemed very sweet and generous. The waiter rolled his eyes and went to get the manager.
Ever didn't say a word, she just kept looking at the older guy that sat down in front of her. He looked at her with a smile and that finally made her speak up, "So...um...why are you sitting with me..." she asked quietly and shy.
Before the guy could respond the manager came out to apologize for their waiter, "I am sorry about your waiter. He just wants to get home," he stated and looked over to the male at the other end of the table, "Chad, what are you still doing here? I figured you'd be back at the apartment by now doing your Physics homework," the manager said. Ever looked up to him and watched as his dark brown hair fall into his brown eyes. She looked between the two friends and questioned things.
"I am here to keep this lovely girl company," Chad said and Ever's cheeks flushed. She didn't understand why her cheeks felt so warm, but she lowered her head to hide it. "Do I have to have a certain reason to stay here, Ithan?"
"No, but again...what did you want to talk to me about?" Ithan stated, kneeling down to be on the eye level of the two.
Ever bit her lip and stayed quiet, as Chad explained to Ithan what had happened with the waiter. She took her phone out again and looked at her crush's profile to see if he had gone live with the party, which he had. Chad and Ithan conversed and Ithan left to speak to their waiter. Ever kept debating on typing what she had on her mind to her crush and Chad cleared his throat a little to try and get her attention. "Are you alright?"
