Chapter 28: The Real Attack

Frederick's inner side, just as Nathaniel expected, is an alpha wolf.

For such a rare case to happen surely made the swordsman surprised. Frederick is an alpha wolf, the highest rank in the pack, and the strongest Liú along with the swordsman. The werewolves were believed to extinct as they haven't made an appearance in so long, obviously meeting one out of the blue is considered a magical phenomenon. Now that one of them actually existed, Nathaniel was honored. No wonder, the strongest appears the last.

"Oh, so that guy is a werewolf... Aren't you excited, Nathan? Finally, you are able to test his strength."

In the speed of light, Nathaniel's neck was grabbed so forcefully he choked and very soon afterwards, his was back was pressed on the floor, the hand still around his neck. Letting that happen on purpose, he only smiled at the red eyes shooting dominant and possessive gaze at him.

"Submit to me," the person on top of him ordered, monotonous and cold. Nathaniel chuckled lightly.

I'm going to take responsibility for this.

"I'm your mate, I've submitted long ago," he said, "Can you smell yourself on me?"

The werewolf's eyes widened. Indeed, he could smell himself on the other when he sniffed him, and as one that was just awakened from the long sleep, it was strange. The wolf couldn't remember anything, but it innocently ーstupidlyー believed that the man below him was his mate. Well, Nathaniel's pure scent smelled good on a daily basis.

On purpose too, Nathaniel wore Frederick's suit so that his scent was available on him, already predicting all along that this was going to happen.

"Don't you remember your own mate? I'm hurt, alpha..."

He pulled off the saddest, most pitiful and disappointed look of submission - one that can melt every alpha's heart, and it successfully melted Frederick's.

The grip on the younger Liú's neck was loosened up thus he could breathe normally again. The helicopter was nearing, the sounds getting stronger and the presence was closer as ever, meaning they didn't have much time left. Realizing this, Nathaniel now looked serious as he stared into the alpha's eyes whose gaze softened after the contact.

"Listen, alpha. There'll be so many foes that will attack me, harm me, and there's possibility that I will die. You, as my mate whom I've submitted my life to, will you allow that to happen?"

The wolf inside Frederick was triggered, it was shaken by the other's words. No, instead, it grew stronger because of the desire to protect, to destroy everything that opposes him.

"Alpha, what will you do? I believed in you, I still do."

Protect him, protect your mate, protect him, protect mateー Aren't you an alpha?

The wolf inside him growled.

Above them in the sky, there was a helicopter with cloaked men jumping down from it with various weapons, but mostly katanas. Seeing this, the two got up from their previous position and prepared themselves for defense. It's time, their inner sides smirked.
