Chapter 17

We were finally heading over to Joey's. I felt slightly nervous, probably because Finnley was going to be there.

Rochelle opened the gate and we all walked in. I felt eyes staring but I didn't know who at. I tried to ignore them.

"Do you want a drink?" I felt someone breathe into my ear.

"Yes please Darryl." I smiled once I knew who it was.

"Sit down and I'll go get you one." I sat on one of Joey's garden chairs. I pulled my iPod and speakers out of my bag and put some music to play. A bottle was handed to me over my shoulder.

"Thanks Darryl. Is he here?"

"No but he'll be here later." around Darryl's eyes were starting to darken but he didn't look bothered by it. He sat on a chair near me and propped my ankle up on his knees. I quickly brought my other leg up so no-one could see up the skirt. That would have been embarrassing.

"You look stunning tonight by the way." I couldn't help but smile at his compliment. He smirked and took a swig out of his bottle.

"It was Becca's idea. I wanted to wear my trackies."

"Well you look stunning what ever you wear." no-one had ever said anything like that to me. I could feel my cheeks burning up.

"Darryl basketball?" Shane shouted over. Darryl turned his head.

"Yeah ok." he gently moved my feet back onto the ground and shot me a smile.

I finished my drink and looked through the songs. Thinks it's time for a bit of Arctic Monkeys.

The party was in full swing. The mussic was buzzing and everyone was having a good time. The lads had come up with some sort of game and us girls were just chatting... mostly about the guys.

"So Rochelle how are you and Joey?"

"We're fine thanks Stace. It's unbelievable I never would of thought in a million years I'd be with him." she was beaming from ear to ear with happiness. I loved seeing her this happy. I know she's liked Joey for a long time but I guess none us knew how he felt.

"So Roxy you got your eyes set on anyone?" all the girls stared at me. Thanks Nicola.

"Not really no. I've had plenty of drama with guys lately."

"But what about Darryl? You two seem to be getting on really well. I mean he keeps glancing over and I don't think he's looking at anyone else but you." I looked over to where the lads were and there Darryl was looking rather hot in his shirt and dark jeans. He turned his head and caught my eye. He smirked at me and gave a faint wink before getting back to the game.

"You see that? He's totally into you."

"He's just being friendly Michelle that's all."

"Really? Have you seen him do that to any other girl?" I paused for a moment. Come to think of it, I'd never seen him do that. But I haven't known him that long so maybe he has.

"See he's totally interested."

"We don't know that for sure."

"Well we'll just have to find out then won't we." Becca had an evil glint in her eye, she only has that when she has a good plan. What did she have in mind?
