Chapter 11

Sleeping wasn't the most comfortable things ever last night.

I got up and got my self dressed as quickly as possible so I had time to hobble downstairs and get my stuff ready.

Aaron was spot on time. They pulled up in the drive at 8.30 sharp.

I managed to just about carry my bag to the door and Aaron opened it and took my bag off me.

"How's the cripple this morning? Sleep alright?"

"Not too bad a bit sore but a lot better." I smiled at him and made my way to the car. He opened the door for me and held it open to it didn't slam in my face.

"Morning Roxanne how are you?"

"Oh I'm ok Mrs O'Leary. Yourself?"

"Please call me Jackie. Not to bad thank you Roxanne. How's the foot?"

"Well it's not broken thankfully but got to keep my weight off it."

I looked for Jackie to a person sitting in the front seat. Their hood was up and they were concentrating on their music. Aaron got in the car and we pulled off.

"That's Darryl. He doesn't talk much in the car. He's a saddo who's doesn't talk to anyone." I smiled and looked back to Darryl just sitting there staring out the window.

We arrived at school 10 minutes later and Jackie pulled up at the bus bay. Before I could reach for my bag Aaron had grabbed it and leapt out the car. I grabbed my crutches and went to open the door and Aaron had once again beaten me to it.

"Thanks Jackie."

"You're welcome Roxanne. Have a good day you guys."

I slowly got out the car and Aaron shut the door behind me. My mates were standing under the trees waiting as usual.

"Hey Roxy you ok? How's the foot?" a concerned Michelle asked.

"Hey guys. Yeah I'm ok just a bit sore but not broken."

"I guess you won't be playing for a while then." Calvin smirked.

"Yeah which is a pain but luckily I won't miss the semi-final so that's ok. I'll just have to be their cheerleader for a while." everyone laughed and we made our way to the sixth form block.

Everyone was already in the room as it took me a while to get there. I walked through the door and straight ahead of me was Finnley. I blanked him and carried on walking. Before I could sit down he was taping me on the shoulder.

"Hey how's the foot? You didn't text me back last night."

"I only switched my phone on this morning." I trying to talk to the others but I was interrupted.

"So how's the foot?"

"How'd you think it is?" I snapped back at him. He looked slightly confused at me.

"What's wrong?"

"What's wrong? You mean you don't remember yesterday? At the park?" his face dropped. "Yeah well I didn't forget either. I'm not going to just forgive you over night for that Finnley. You made a promise at Joey's and you broke it within a few hours." by now everyone had heard me yelling at Finnley.

"Roxanne look everyone's watching can we do this outside?"

"NO! I don't care who hears what you're like. You can't keep promises can you? I thought you had actually changed and I gave you the benefit of the doubt. You only have one thing on your mind Finnley... and that's not going to change." I turned around and tried to talk casually to my mates.
