Chapter Fifteen

"How much farther is it?" Dawn moaned from behind. "You can stop moaning Dawn we're here," Ezra answered as they stopped besides the only left standing building in as far as the eye could see. Although Dawn could see a problem with it straight away she pulled a face "there's no door, how are we supposed to get in?" Ezra didn't answer he just knelt down on the ground in front of it. Kai looked at Dawn then knelt next to him. Dawn didn't need another hint so she knelt down on Ezra's other side. Ezra and Kai raised one hand up to the building and Dawn soon copied.
All of a sudden the strange building started to spin clockwise rising as it did. Dawn could heard noises and opened her eyes for a peak but quickly closed her eyes again after she realised the others were still concentrating. As the entrance grew nearer a chill shot down Ezra's spine. He open his eyes and lowered his hand "kids," he muttered "get out of here, NOW!"
At that moment two destroyer droids rolled out the newly formed entrance and started firing at them. Ezra whipped out his lightsaber and started to deflect the shots as Dawn grabbed Kai and they dived behind a rock. "Kai we need to do something!" Dawn yelled to Kai over the sounds of shots hitting the rocks around them. "What can we do? We're not train in combat!" Kai yelled back.
Dawn thought for a moment "quick Kai tell me everything you know about destroyer droids!"
"Well for a start they're droids!"
"Skip ahead Kai! What about weakness? Do they have any weaknesses?"
Kai thought for a moment "they get distracted easily and they have a weak spot from the side on!" He yelled.
"That's it!" She paused "okay Kai I'll distract them while you get them from behind with this." She lifted the other lightsaber out of Kai's bag and handed it to him."
"But Dawn," Kai sounded concerned.
"But nothing Kai Ezra needs out help and we have to help him."
Kai was reluctant but nodded. Dawn then jumped on top of the rock and started waving her arms "hey junk pile," she yelled as the droid turned to her "catch me if you can." She jumped off the rock and started running managing to avoid every shot that came her way. While the droid was distracted Kai snuck out from behind the rocks, activated the lightsaber and swung it into its side. The droid's lights went out and it dropped to the ground. "Nice work you two!" Ezra congratulated as he turned to look at them. Which he immediately realised was a mistake as the droid took their shot and shot him in the arm. Ezra dropped his lightsaber to grab his arm and fell to the ground. "Ezra!" Kai and Dawn yelled as they ran toward him. With one swing of the lightsaber Kai took the droid's head clean off then ran over to where Dawn was with Ezra. "I'm fine," Ezra muttered sitting
up and stumbling to his feet "at least that was the last of them," he sighed. Suddenly the sounds of clanking droids grew closer as a several more droids came out of the entrance. Kai activated the lightsaber and stood by Ezra and Dawn. "You really shouldn't have jinxed it," Dawn mumbled almost frightened.

Suddenly a army of shots came launching out of the sky as the Phantom, piloted by Hera, flew though the skies. The shots took out all of the droids and flooded the air with dust. After a few seconds of silence Hera appeared in the clouds of dust. "Kai, Dawn?" She yelled.
"Mum!" Kai and Dawn both yelled at the same time as they ran over to her and hugged her. "I am so happy you kids are okay," she muttered then she pushed them away for a second "if you ever try anything like that again you are so dead," she mumbled sternly.
"Gos, are you happy to see us or not?" Dawn almost laughed.
Hera hugged them again "I'm just happy you're s-," she started until she realised someone was walking out of the entrance. Dawn and Kai let go and moved back to see what she was looking at. A figure walked out of the entrance and stopped just outside. He was tall and wore all green with a green mask over his eyes. "Kanan," Hera and Ezra both muttered quietly at the same time in shock. Kai and Dawn were confused. "Mum, who is that guy?" Dawn questioned quietly.
"Kids," Hera started careful not to take her eyes of Kanan "that's your father..."
