"Maul?" Dawn called sheepishly to inside the dark, fiery temple with the holecron clutched in one hand and the red lightsaber in the other. She ignited the lightsaber to give her some light then started to walk inside. "Maul?" She called again "are you here?" Her voiced echoed as it bounced off the many dark walls of the discarded temple. "Dawn," a weak voice quietly replied "is that you?" Dawn looked around a corner quickly to see Maul laying on his back on the dusty floor. Dawn dropped the holecron and ran over. "Maul, what happened? Who did this to you?" She questioned quickly as she knelt down beside him and tried to help. "The Dark side." Maul coughed "the Dark side did this to me." He paused "they were trying to find you Dawn, I tried to protect you from them," he muttered weakly then he sighed "I fear my days of protecting you are over."
"No," Dawn cried "I can't just let you die, there must be something I can do."
Maul thought for a moment "maybe there is," he muttered weakly looking over at the holecron as he spoke "us Jedi use to keep valuable information inside those holocrons, some of which was healing information." Maul paused for a moment before he spoke "but I am far to weak to open them now."
Dawn thought for a moment than got up ran across the room to get the holocron and came back to kneel by Maul. "Maybe I could open it, I am a Jedi I training?" She questioned.
"That might work then you could save me," Maul muttered now even more weakly.
Dawn nodded "quick Maul, tell me what I have to do."
"Okay first of all you need to kneel down and place the holocron just a little way from you," he coughed and spluttered "then you just need to picture it unlocking in your mind and I will be well again."
Dawn immediately did what he said. She kneeled down with the holocron just a little way in front of her and closed her eyes to picture it opening inside her mind. As she did the small holocron's golden corners started to turn. "Yes, yes!" Muttered Maul under his breath as he climbed to his feet quietly and stood behind Dawn. "Is it working yet Maul?" Dawn questioned her eyes still shut. There was no reply for a moment. "Maul?" Dawn called again with her eyes still shut even if she was slightly more concerned this time. "Oh yes," Maul started taking his lightsaber out his belt and swinging it back behind Dawn's head "it's working very well!" He mischievous and evilly laughed as he hit Dawn on the back of the head with the lightsaber knocking her out against the fiery Mustafar ground. He then grabbed the solved holocron and put it in his pocket as he dragged Dawn away deeper into the temple.
