"what happened?"

"she was awake, i swear, hyung," jungkook says as yoongi rushes from the bathroom and back to her hospital room.

"then why are you guys out here?"

"the doctors pushed us out the moment she woke up," namjoon says.

"something about it being easier to check her mental and physical state now that she's awake," hoseok adds.

"so they're putting her through even more tests?" yoongi asks dumbfounded. "she just woke up for goodness sakes! she could be out like a lightbulb in a split second!"

taehyung sadly nods. "we can't do anything about it though."

yoongi slumps down onto a waiting chair. "so now we just have to wait?"

jungkook nods. "at least we know she's okay, right?"

yoongi shrugs. "just because she's awake didn't mean she's okay. just like how helping her doesn't mean felt good about it."

jungkook opens his mouth to say something but closes it.

a doctor exits sooyun's room and approaches the boys. he looked rather young. "you're all here for sooyun?"

the boys nod.

"i'm jimin, a doctor in training here at the hospital," he introduces. "after ms. baek's brief awakening, her heart is weaker than before. the suffocation really took a toll on her."

yoongi's expression falters. "is she still here?"

jimin nods. "if she stays in this condition, we will definitely be able to restore her back to somewhat normal conditions. she's currently sitting up and adjusting to her surroundings."

yoongi lets out a sigh of relief. "that's good to know."

jimin puts a hand on yoongi's shoulder. "everything's going to be fine, young man."

yoongi cocks an eyebrow. "young man? pretty sure i'm older than you, dongsaeng."

"oh," jimin pouts. "well then everything's going to be fine, hyung."

yoongi lightly smiles at the doctor in training as hoseok pats yoongi's back.

"we try telling her to lie back down, but she insists on sitting up so she could prepare something," jimin continues. must be important if she has strong enough of a will to do it."

"see?" hoseok asks. "there's nothing to worry about. the doctors have it all under control. sooyun will be fine in no time. she already has enough spirit to do something productive."

just as he finishes his words of encouragement, several doctors rush into sooyun's room.

"what's happening?" yoongi asks, suddenly feeling panicked again.

jimin furrows his eyebrows. "i'm not sure. i'll go check." he quickly makes his way to the room, leaving yoongi and the rest alone.

another doctor exits her room, closing the door behind him. he approaches the anxious boys.

"i'm sorry," he says.

yoongi's face turns white yet again.

"what do you mean?"

a nurse exits and tapes a document onto her door. yoongi cautiously stands up, making his way towards the document. he holds his breath and doesn't bother to fight back the tears as he reads the words in bold print.

"baek sooyun, 20 years, march 9, 2014, heart failure via self suffocation."
