I closed the door and was met by an excited Bailey who was grinning like he did a bunch of Coke and was jumping up and down.
"So how was it, did he give you his number, did you kiss, tell me, tell me, tell me!"
"Shhh! " I hushed louder than Bailey spoke, "80 is probably asleep and it wasn't a date, although he did... kiss me on the cheek. "
Bailey squealed, grabbed my arms and jumped up and down in glee that could be compared to a little school girl.
"Now now, it's just a cheek kiss. "
"Just a cheek kiss? That could lead to mouth kissing, to making out, to sex, to marriage, to kids, and a happy life! "
"Yeah speaking of life, Zac actually told me some dark details about his and how he did drugs got clean and got real personal super quick. Is that a bad sign, like a red flag or something?"
"That's a good sign, it means he feels comfortable with you."
"Well I know we should've discussed this earlier as well but we should talk about our lives, like what are we going to do now since we're not touring anymore and we're thousands of miles away from home and we can't stay at Joey's place forever. It'll be hard to maintain long distance relationships but we have to go back soon."
Bailey then started to slowly grow a smile and looked at me, and I already had a feeling knew what was going to come out of that smiling mouth.
"Or we can... I don't know, live in California. "
"Wait really? " I was still shocked by the statement despite predicting it.
"C'mon, I have a bf, a Bachelor's Degree, and you have a potential relationship and can start a new here. It'll be like, reinventing ourselves."
It wasn't the craziest idea ever, considering how we got into this whole shenanigans in the first place, but I was still left saying,
"So much left behind in Boston."
Bailey and I discussed life and what to do. We decided the big life decision; we're moving here to California. The next night, I before our flight, I called Zac to talk.
"Hey Zac, " I said, "Uh I had a good time last night. "
"Oh did I freak you out by being too personal, too fast? " He asked.
"Nah, it's perfectly fine. Are you doing okay in LA? "
"Yeah, yeah, are you doing fine in Oakland?"
"That didn't rhyme but I'll be in Boston for a bit so I don't want you to be startled by the lack of communication that may occur. "
"That's fine- Hey don't touch that! " He yelled, hopefully to someone else.
"Sorry, " Zac said, "That was my roommate, being a doof, but I understand and I hope to see you soon again. "
"Okay by I lo- I mean bye. "
I hung up, with swift, almost having a heart attack by saying I love you to the guy I just met.
We flew to Boston, packed what we could, sold all that we couldn't to a pawn shop, sold the apartment, and said our goodbyes to those we cherish in Boston, even though half of our friend thought we were dead. I bit my lip and closed my eyes on the flight back to Oakland, hoping I was making the right decisions, but then again I got kicked out of a community college, snuck on tour with my favorite band, and became friends with said band, created a beautiful relationship between Bailey and Joey, had crazy adventures worth telling for the rest of my life, and found myself a little bit more, so maybe, this is what I need.
