"It's something. Look." Rebecca held up the piece of fabric and in turn Hopper's face lit up with the hope of some kind of lead. He stepped forward and Rebecca pointed towards the sewer pipe as he kneels down to look inside.
"No way a kid crawls in there." Powell stated.
"I don't know, a scared enough one might." Rebecca said, looking up at the officer, tilting her head to the side at the possibility.
"His brother said he was good at hiding." Hopper muttered as his flashlight lit up the pipe.
"She found this?" Hopper asked Mr. Clarke as he stood back up, his flashlight now pointing at the piece of fabric that was in Rebecca's hand, but her attention wasn't faced towards their conversation anymore.
"Yeah, it was a pretty good find. She seems like she's good at this stuff." Mr. Clarke said as Rebecca slowly moved her flashlight up to where the pipe seemed to run. She walked forward, abruptly as Hopper and the rest of them trailed after her, jogging down a hill until they ran into a fence, one that stated Restricted Area.
Rebecca's flashlight danced across the sign before she looked back at her father, concerned looks flashing across both their faces.

A FEELING OF UNEASINESS settled at the bottom of Rebecca's stomach - one that had been present since she arrived in Hawkins, but only intensified after what she had found during the search party. It wasn't the piece of fabric that she found that was unnerving her, it was the fence she had ran into while she was following the pipe, the one that stated restricted access. Rebecca didn't know why, but she knew that there was something on the other side that would connect them towards Will or whatever was going on inside her head.
She didn't know why. She just knew.
The search party that had grouped together was called off soon after Rebecca had found the police department's newest lead. She found herself sitting in the front seat of her father's van at the early time of 10 o'clock, though it had been dark for awhile, convincing Rebecca's subconscious that it was much later than it really was.
Rebecca stifled a yawn, covering her mouth with her hand that was still clad in glove material as she slumped further down into the passenger seat. She didn't lie to herself- she was physically tired enough to fall asleep on the spot, considering she hadn't gotten more than five hours of sleep every night for years, but her mind never stopped.
