Tom looked around the library and noticed that he just lost Y/N, and they just arrived there for five minutes. He sighed and shook his head. That was what always happened when they went to the library or bookstores, both of them could be too carried away.
His eyes wandered around and finally he saw his best friend, who was struggling to reach for a book. And she was too short to reach for it though. He chuckled and quickly walked towards her.
"Having trouble, miss?"
Once again, he made she almost got a heart attack. She jumped backwards and almost stumbled on her feets when she heard his voice.
"Stop doing that to me!"
She whispered-yelled at Tom, her eyes widen while glaring at him. He laughed and his voice was very loud, she was sure that everyone could hear him.
"Be quiet! We're in library, Tom."
She scolded, her intention was to drag Tom out of people attention. But then, a woman who was standing near to her gave her a weird look. Y/N looked at her and the woman quickly took her book and left.
"Okay, was I being weird?"
She asked to herself and looked over at Tom. He just chuckled under his breathe and shrugged.
"Only you can see and hear me, Y/N. So, talking to me in public will make you a crazy lady."
He stated casually whilst ran his fingers through his hair. She gasped on realization and mentally facepalmed.
"This is unbelievable."
She scoffed and reached for the book that was placed high on the shelves. Tom just watched and laughed when she failed to reach for it. She stood on her tiptoes but still, she couldn't reach it.
"Shorty."
Tom joked, laughs escaped his lips non-stop. She glared at him but kept ignoring his words. She didn't want to talk to him in public anymore, or people would label her as a mad woman who talked to herself.
She tried to reach for the book again, but then another person came and got the book easily. She looked at the person and frowned.
"I'm sorry, miss. I saw you struggled to get this book so, here. Take it."
The man handed her the book with a smile. She gladly took it and thanked him. He was very nice.
"Oh, thank you very much, sir."
She thanked him again and cracked a smile for him.
"My pleasure. I'm Sebastian; Sebastian Williams."
She shook his hand and told him her name. Her smile didn't disappear from her face as they talked. They almost forgot that they were in library.
"Y/N, I'm still here, you know."
Tom chirped, he appeared from nowhere. She gave him a look and ignored him. Sebastian looked over at his watch and cleared his throat.
"It's nice to meet you, Y/N. Um, maybe we can- go out sometimes?"
He asked, a bunch of hopes grew in his chest. She was surprised, but nodded immediately.
"Sure. I'd love to go out with you."
He gave her his number and she did the same with him. Tom watched as they awkwardly laughed and pretended to be shy and all. He rolled his eyes dramatically when Sebastian kissed her cheek before he left the library.
"He's a nice guy."
She muttered under her breathe when Sebastian weren't there anymore. Tom scoffed and shook his head violently.
"He is not that nice, Y/N."
He said, a clear disgust in his eyes. She frowned and tilted her head a bit. Tom always kind to people, but he was giving bad comments about Sebastian.
"Why would you say that?"
She questioned. Tom just shrugged it off and ignored her question.
"Why don't you like him?"
She asked, a little bit annoyed when he ignored her. Tom walked away and pretended to look at the books.
"Stop ignoring me-"
"Miss, are you alright?"
The librarian came and asked Y/N. She bit her lips and nodded slightly.
"Yes, I'm fine."
"But you were-"
"I love to talk to myself. It's been in my nature."
Silly answer, she thought to herself. The librarian wasn't convinced but excused herself and left her. Tom snickered, making Y/N glared daggers at him.
"This is all your fault."
