Tom rushed out of his room as he heard the front door opened. He appeared in front of Y/N who just walked into the house, making she jumped a little bit.
"Tom!"
"I'm sorry I startled you. I'm just too excited to hear that you got it."
He said, a huge grin plastered on his face. She laughed and shook her head in disbelief.
"How- How could you be so sure that I got it?"
He shrugged.
"Well, you got it right?"
He wiggled his eyebrows and gave her a smirk. She nodded violently. He smiled in victory and opened his arms for her. She ran into his arms gladly and laughed.
"I'm so happy, Tom!"
She screamed in joy.
"I'm happy for you too, Y/N."
He said, and planted a kiss on her forehead. He spun her around and she fell in his arms, still laughing. Her laughs was music to his ears that he felt he was fell under her spell.
"I've got to see Miss Thompson again tomorrow to discuss more about my book. So I better get to sleep now."
He nodded at her when he saw that she was exhausted. Just by the look on her face told him that she was so tired that day. He let her go and smiled.
"Go get some rest, darling. You need it."
"Good night, Tom."
She said before walked towards her bedroom. Tom eyed her until she was out of his sight. He sighed and licked his now dry lips. Maybe it wasn't the right time to tell her.

On the next day, Tom waited for her to come back from the meeting all day long. He needed the right time to tell her about how he was feeling. He was hoping that she could return his feeling and they could be together again.
So when she came back, he was starting to get all nervous and anxious. They were sitting on the roof top, admiring the beauty of the night skies like their normal nights. But Y/N could feel that something was wrong. Tom didn't laugh casually, but he laughed nervously. It was so unlike him.
"Tom, are you okay?"
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. Totally fine."
He answered, his eyes wandered everywhere but at Y/N. She sighed and shook her head- something was wrong.
"Do you remember that one time when you cried because I was away?"
She asked, a sly smile on her face. He looked at her and frowned, trying to hide his smile.
"I didn't, Y/N."
He denied, a grin finally appeared on his face. She laughed and hit his arm playfully.
"I stayed in Nancy's place for two weeks and you cried because you missed me. I was 10 at that time, if I'm not mistaken."
She smirked when she remembered that. Maybe she was a crybaby, but Tom also could shed tears because of her. Only because of her.
"God, I didn't cry! I missed you but I wasn't in tears."
"My mom called me and told me that you came over our house and asked her to ask me to come back soon."
She brought the memories back. He glared daggers at her, but laughed along when he reminded of that.
"Fine. I did that."
He admitted while pouting. She laughed and shook her head.
"Why don't you just call me by yourself?"
She asked. He just shrugged.
"Maybe because I don't want you to know that I missed you."
He reasoned. She wiggled her eyebrows at him, receiving another deadly glare from her best friend.
"Or maybe you were afraid that you'll cry if you hear my voice."
She made an assumption. Tom laughed along with her but he stopped to look at her. She was so perfect, and he couldn't lose her.
"Y/N."
She stopped laughing and looked at him. He was looking deep in her eyes, admiring on how beautiful her pair of eyes were. She didn't move an inch, she didn't know what was wrong with herself. It felt so right that they didn't realize they were leaning into each other, their faces were so close together.
The second Y/N felt his lips on hers, she didn't push him away. She didn't kiss him back, but after a moment she closed her eyes and put a hand on his chest, kissing him back. The kiss was perfect, but she pulled away in realisation. What she did- was wrong.
"Y/N, I love you."
Tom quickly said when she pulled away from him. She just looked at him without saying anything. Tears pooled in her eyes as her heart started to betray her mind.
"No, Tom-"
"I know you love me too, Y/N. You don't have to lie-"
"Thomas, don't."
She said sternly. She was in love with him, but she wasn't sure about now. Of course, there was a special place in her heart for Tom, always- but after Sebastian came, she didn't know what to do.
"I don't love you, Tom."
That was a lie.
A tear rolled down her cheek as she saw his face dropped. She couldn't tell him that she loved him. Because she loved Sebastian too. She couldn't be in love with two people at the same time, right?
"You do. I know you do."
Hot tears started to form in his eyes as she shook her head. He didn't believe that she didn't love him because her eyes told him otherwise. She was lying to him.
"I'm with Sebastian."
"We could fix it."
"How?!"
She was crying now. He wanted to tell her that he could come back as a breathing normal person so she could accept him, but then she cut him.
"This is wrong, Tom."
She stood up and started to leave him. He quickly got up but didn't run after her.
"But it feels so right."
He said, and she stopped walking. She wanted to turn around and run into his arms, tell him that she loved him but she couldn't do it. So she just shook her head and ran towards her room. She buried her face in the pillow and cried. That was what she did.
Tom looked up the skies, tears welled in his eyes. He didn't know what to do now. And he didn't have an answer to give to 'The Death'.
Y/N didn't love him, the urge to live was gone in his soul.
