Masquerade, A Tom Hiddleston Story

I feel like I need to explain myself on the choices I made in developing Tom's character. He sounds quite full on, needy and dramatic in this love story. Well frankly this is the way I imagined him to be in a relationship. His seeming neediness is not a sign of weakness in my opinion. But he is as he described himself in an interview I read (can't remember which one, I watched so many in order to create/reimagine his character traits), he just cares so damn much. He is passionate to a fault. He feels things so deeply and is not ashamed to express them. He wears his heart on his sleeve. And he is intense. When he falls for someone he doesn't hold back. I see it in the way Hiddleswift played out. Tom is not censoring his actions. Unaware of the impact it has on his image. Again this is the way I fantasize T Hiddles as a person in love. I could be wrong lol 😃

And thus Kate's character is his foil. Careful and guarded. That's why she is so fickle and annoying at times. On one hand, she is swept off her feet by this prince charming who adores her, but she is cynical and jaded (being in the industry herself) and not able to just let go and be in a relationship as intensely as he wants her to be. She is constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. Something to go wrong. For me that dynamic is fun to explore.

Again this is a work of fiction. I'm taking liberties with timelines, location and people. I don't know if I will be addressing Hiddleswift or not. This story is so far set far before the Met Gala. And honestly don't know how Kate and Tom might end up. If they stay together then Hiddleswift can't happen. Maybe I'll create an alternate universe where we are spared of that horror!

And I just realized that I write really long chapters. Is it too much? Or shorter more condensed chapters are easier to read?

I think it's time we get Kate's POV on this relationship. Hopefully it paints a better picture on why she is so reluctant to start a relationship and yet so willing to be swept off her feet (well that's obvious why... It's frigging Tom hiddleston!).

All the titles of Tom's chapters are Shakespeare quotes. But Kate is a musical freak. So her chapters will be either songs or dialogs from musicals that she loves.
