I woke to the sound of screaming.
"Pompeii! Pompeii!"
I slowly opened one eye. There were ashes and little sparks of fire lying across the desert. Part of a nearby tree was burnt. What happened?I thought.
"It's Pompeii!"
"Dan, calm down."Quake said, soothingly."Someone might've forgotten to put out the fire last night."
"We didn't have a fire last night."I interjected."We didn't cook either."
"And I made sure to put my lantern out."Toby said.
"Then...do you think..."Ant said, dumbfounded.
"Probs."Emma said."...But people, people. There's nothing to be afraid of. It's just a person who can tear your head of and break your neck in one move."
I give Em a death stare.
"Yeah, right."Diamond said."Break your neck."she seems to say the last part of an insult.
Emma gives her a death stare. Yeah, they hate eachother.
"We should get going."I said."It's already close to mid-day. Let's go."
We pack our things again and set off.
Suddenly, there was a long howl that came from the distance.
