Dust particles floated in the air before dispersing quickly as a figure moved through them, cutting through shadows and light. The attic floorboards creaked as weight was pressed upon them, and the air filled with the flowery scent of perfume.

A woman glided across the attic floor, searching for her target. Ocean-blue eyes landed on a pile of boxes, before footsteps headed towards them. As the woman crouched down next to them, a curtain of chocolatey locks fell across her face. She blew them out of her way, her breath breaking the still, musty air as she moved aside boxes upon boxes.

As she moved the last box, reaching her desired focus, she knocked another over, spilling the contents onto the damp floorboards. She stopped for a moment and reached down pick up the box.

It was small; about four inches square, and covered with brown Kraft paper. The lid that had fallen off was black and worn, the edges tarnished.

The woman then reached out to pick up the well-worn photographs that lay scattered about the floor. She stopped.

They were pictures of the past. Still life's of her saving-the-world days.

There was one of her and Yellow sitting in the shade of a banyan tree in the Hoenn region. Another of all the Kanto DexHolders and the Sinnoh Dexholders when they met in 2015; it seemed so long ago that she was only 17. And another of White, Crystal and her on top of the Battle Pyramid in Kanto. And many others too.

The pictures were all faded and slightly yellow with age, the edges worn down from years of handling. She could have stayed there all day, reliving old experiences, had it not been for her husband's voice, calling her down. "Blue! Are you finished yet?"

"Coming, Green!" Blue called back down the stairs, shoving the old photographs back into the box and quickly shutting the lid. She then reached out for what she really came up there for, and sprinted down the stairs into the kitchen.

"About time." Green grumbled, setting Blizzard, their daughter, onto a high chair.

Blue held out the box of candles to Green, and replied: "Sorry. I got a little distracted." She then surveyed the room as her husband set the candles onto the cake and lit them.

Sitting at the dining table were Yellow, Platinum, Crystal, and Sapphire. Next to them, their children played.

Talon, Crystal and Gold's oldest child, was playing tag along with Blaze (Silver and Lyra's son) as well as Ochre and Autumn (Red and Yellow's twins). Azurite, Talon's younger sister, was playing with her dolls along with Kaydence (Platinum and Diamond's daughter).

Near the table, where Blizzard's cake and highchair were set up, were Red, Gold, Ruby and Diamond.

Black and White; Pearl, his wife Noelle, and their son Rex; and Emerald and his wife Tara, were all away on business.

Soon all the candles were lit and everyone was singing "Happy Birthday" to now-two-year-old Blizzard.

"What did you wish for?" Sapphire asked the young girl.

Blizzard turned her bright blue eyes onto the woman who asked and bluntly responded. "Some peace and quiet."

Laughs echoed throughout the kitchen.

"You know, she's just like you Green." Red told the brunette.

Green's eyes twinkled with affection as he gazed down at his daughter who was now eating a slice of the cake with along with Autumn. "I've been told that on more than one occasion."

"Hey, Blue." The said woman turned to Yellow. "You took so long up there, in the attic. What were you doing anyway?"

Blue smiled. "Just reliving some old memories."
