The reason I perform at concerts,
is not the thunderous applause that follows,
or the music that dances in the air,
or how the audience is enthralled with every note;
no,
it is about the fine line between the last note and the applause,
the electric air that the note is still riding on,
the audience holding their breath,
the silent agreement not to applaud,
how they silently ask "is it over? Can we clap?"
when the spell is broken and they jump to their feet, roaring and stomping their approval,
as we bow and grin;
yes,
that is why I perform.
A/N: Really happy with this one.
