The man holds a sign,
begging for food or a dollar or two.
People ignore him,
as if he's not humiliated already.
He stares sadly,
as the cars zoom by.
Why?
Why are people like this?
Can they not spare a dollar,
and a little bit of their time,
to help this man?
The children plead to give him money,
but the parents say "no".
It seems the older you get,
the crueler you are.
