When I talked,
everyone points out how
my mouth can't form the correct syllables,
how my "a" and "r"'s mess up the rest of the word,
how un-American I sound,
and how everyone asks me if I'm British.
(Spoiler alert: I'm not.)
They also ask "Did you know you have a British accent?"
Yes, I know.
I've known my whole life.
And that,

how I learned to keep my mouth shut.
