Layne could go home the next day.  I got Frankie to come with me to bring Layne home, since I don't have a car.  When he arrived,  Matt was with him.  He waved from the open window enthusiastically. I waved back with a huge smile on my face.

When we were driving to the hospital,  Matt sang along with every song played on the radio.  I giggled at his horrendous voice while Frankie looked like he was suffering. Matt was growing on me. He's very entertaining and I was glad he chose our table to sit for lunch on the first day he was there.

When we got there, Layne was all packed up and ready to go. It was a hot Sunday afternoon. I bundled Layne into Frankie's car and Matt was ready to help. He fussed over Layne and kept asking her if she was comfortable. It got on her nerve.

"Oh my God, I only banged my head alright! I did not almost die or anything! Stop fussing! I don't even know you!"  Layne cried exasperatedly when Matt was trying to put a fleece on her lap in the car.

"Hey, I was the one who saved you yesterday. I got to make sure I keep you alive, ok." Matt said as I tried not to laugh. He was quickly driving Layne insane. She cried exasperatedly as she slapped Matt's hands away and threw the fleece at him. He caught it neatly in his hands and shook his head, like a disapproving mother.

"Addy! Tell your boyfriend here to leave me the fuck alone!" Layne said,  her voice dangerously low. I looked over at Matt who only shrugged and Layne who was glaring at him.

"Come on Matt.  Stop bothering Layne.  If she messes you up,  I won't be responsible ok." I warned Matt as Layne grumbled while giving him the evil eye. Matt raised both hands up and looked very innocent.  It was hard to get pissed off with him since he was so gorgeous and adorable.

When we arrived home,  Layne opened the door on her side as Matt rushed out to help her.  I just shook my head in amusement when I heard Layne shrieking and swearing. I quickly went to her and saw that Matt had tried to carry her.  The eff was he doing?!

"Argh,  get me down! Leave me the fuck alone! Addy,  get him away from me!" Layne shrieked as she flailed her arms everywhere trying to get Matt to put her down as he was carrying her bridal style up to the porch towards the threshold. I looked on in amazement.

"Hey Matt.  Put her down before she kills you,  man." Frankie said as he took down Layne's stuff from the trunk.

Matt relented and put Layne down.  She pushed him by the chest and stomped off.  I shook my head in amazement. I got into the house. Layne was in the kitchen, drinking a glass of water. I suddenly felt a little awkward with her because now that we were at home, I wasn't sure if we're friends now or not. I went into the kitchen too and started rummaging into the fridge for something to eat for lunch.

"I'm thinking how the hell am I supposed to hide this scar tomorrow for the photo shoot?" Layne said suddenly as she sat at the breakfast island. I looked at her and frowned. She still wanted to go?

"Are you sure you want to to go, Layne? You kinda look like crap." I said before I could stop myself. Layne looked at me in surprise and I gulped. Did I say the wrong thing? Just when our relationship had started to improve somehow. Suddenly she laughed and reached for a small container of yogurt and started peeling off the cover.

"You know what? You're right. I even hate modelling. I only do it cos mum would not leave me alone if I refuse to do it. God, I hate her." Layne grumbled as she licked the small spoon. She sighed and continued eating the apricot yogurt. I chuckled and sat across from her, putting some cold cuts, cheese, salad, tomatoes and bread on the island. She looked at the food on the table. I proceeded to make sandwiches for Matt and Frankie who were watching tv out front. I made one for her, too. She watched me like a hawk, without uttering a word.  After I was done, I pushed her sandwich on a plate to her. Her eyes widen a little, looking at the sandwich like it would bite her.
